OK, Haruko Ichikawa, author of Houseki no Kuni, is listed in Pokémon Sun and Moon Staff as Pokémon Characters Designer. Kind of proofs: twitter (screenshots from game, credits) and Bulbapedia

What kind of Pokemon was designed by the author, I wonder?

I offered my help in translation to the blog with scans but they told me that they might find a Japanese to English translator soon.. I can translate from Russian to English all missing chapters so please let me know if I can help with translation..!

Hello! I see you translated a houseki no kuni page and I was wondering if you can read japanese? And if so, if you would like to work something out to translate the manga again ? ;_; I can type set, edit the pages, do all the graphical part and all the other things necessary. I can even host a website for this or anything. You have no idea how much I love this manga and want to see it back and going again D:

Hello! Sorry, I can’t read Japanese, I’ve just translated page from Russian. English is foreign language for me and my level is lower than Intermediate. 

I’ve fallen in love at first sight with this manga too, so I’ve started to work with Russian translator as cleaner-redrawer-editor-typesetter a long time ago (years)

I don’t know why, but “Houseki no Kuni in English”-project looks like it’s cursed. First translator (Japanese to English) is “missed in action”, second translator (Russian to English), maybe, isn’t translating it anymore (last update was months ago).

i think it’s really cool that ms ichikawa made obsidian the blacksmith, because obsidian blades were some of the sharpest in the world. for example, the macuahuitl was reportedly sharp enough to decapitate a horse
