Finally started playing Dragon Age: Inquisition—I’m only 10 years late! I'm not done with the game yet but I'm getting there, and piecing together Lavellan's name and story as I go along. More below the cut.
As it stands, I got her name from the elvhen words ghilanas (to guide; create luck), oin (rabbit), and da (little). Ghilin'da, or Ghil'da, for short. Prior to the Conclave, she lived as a city elf and owned the human slur for elves: "rabbit". She rarely went by any another name until the Conclave.
Once she became Inquisitor, the nickname would have fallen away if not for Solas's use of it. Solas latched onto the name and called her Ghilin'da, claiming that she was lucky for surviving the Anchor.
When Solas's identity is revealed, the name is forever marked in elvhen folklore, and Inquisitor Lavellan becomes Ghilin'da, the foil to Fen'harel.
In the years that follow, elves wait with bated breath for the ending to the tale of the Lucky Rabbit and the Dread Wolf.
It’s about time I post an update to Fever Six’s old bio. She’s only been around for years now.

X6-91 was designed to infiltrate and destroy the Railroad in 2270. Long story short, she failed spectacularly and was hailed back to the Institute. Energy readings showed that on the relay trip home, her courser chip went haywire, and the synth disappeared. When no clues to X6-91′s whereabouts could be found, she was marked as terminated.
No one knows what happened to her afterward. Not even X6-91.
All anyone knows is that history began when Doc Mitchell’s pet project opened her eyes in the Mojave desert in 2283. She had been left for dead with a bullet hole in her brain and no clue who she was or where she came from. Nonetheless, she adopts Doc Mitchell’s nickname for her (after she had an impossibly high Fever) and the number scribbled on the paperwork buried with her: Six.Â
Years later, after siding with the Bear in the Second Battle for Hoover Dam for the sake of her sniper friend, Fever decides it’s time to set out for home, wherever that is. A single recurring dream gives her her only clue: a man on his knees, begging her to “think of the Commonwealth.”
And so she sets out for Boston with her cyborg dog, hoping to find a detective who can help her piece her past together.
