Me and bestie finally finding smth we have in common (it’s ballistic weaponry + lethal combat)
I have this odd little addiction to drawing my favorite characters napping together all cozy so naturally I had to hit these two with the eepy beam sooner or later as well
The truth is, these males aren't really performative. They're actually just bisexual
...and please don't mind the eye.
I might just be out of my mind but I think a TADC-Magnus Protocol crossover would work surprisingly well, given the nature of both shows being rooted in horror.
Jax (well, Kovach, his VA) would do a fantastic job reading/being in a statement, though he'd likely be as bored as Tim by the end of it. Caine (Rochon) doing one would probably be the only time Alice would pay any attention - at least for a couple minutes.
Similarity.
and it worked !
I think I like blue-yellow color schemed landscapes, I think Twitter | Prints | Ko-Fi | Patreon
When I'm a full time novelist and anyone asks me what I do for work, I'm gonna mess with them and say I work at the number muncher factory and if they think I misspoke and meant "cruncher" I'll whip out this image
Not Anymore.
season 1: I'm Jonathan Sims, Head Archivist of Magnus Institute, London. My professional opinion is that this is all horseshit and everyone that isn't me needs psychiatric help. Statement ends.
season 2: Supplemental: God lives inside the printer and he keeps telling me my assistants are murderers. I am inclined to believe him based on the fact that Martin told to have a nice day. Innately suspicious behavior.
season 3: My only friends are my ex-girlfriend, her cat, and the many scars I've gotten from various monsters and fear cultists.
season 4: You know, just being socially adept would solve a lot of my problems. Unfortunately, I was traumatized so thoroughly by age eight that I learned the best way to make friends is to blink at them slowly until they get the idea. This does not work when your evil patron god uses eyeballs to devour fear.
season 5: Either Jonah Magnus tells us where he took all the good cows, or my boyfriend and I bash his head in with a lead crowbar. It's his choice.
So I'm not very far into the Magnus Protocol but I have to say two very important (not spoiler) things:
1. Oh my GOD the audio production is divine. Everything sounds so incredibly well done and I can only imagine how much of a pain it must be to make it so good. Huge kudos to all the audio tinkerers behind the scenes. Thank you.
2. Bless everyone who helps, maintains, and/or contributes to the wiki. Not only for avoiding Fandom, but also for dividing out each magp into pre-case, case itself, and post-case sections that are auto-collapsed when you open the page. It's a blessing to have people who care about ensuring I don't get spoiled if I'm mid episode and want to recheck a detail I missed
Also, I'm really, really enjoying it so far. Can't wait to catch up and be as feral as everyone else waiting for new episodes
Melanie, but she found a sword in the Artefact storage…🤺 Elias, your coffee is on its way☕️
Little continuation… or prequel… who knows👁️
i love when ppl draw elias bouchard wearing like anachronistic ass emerald green waistcoats and a monocle in their fanart bc it makes s1 so much funnier to think about. like you know what? yeah actually if i was jonathan sims and my fucking freak of a boss dressed like that and did an evil monologue voice at all times and paid me to read ghost stories in his basement all day, i would also probably be like "yeah this is a deeply unserious job and i am the only normal person here. sick paycheck tho" and then clock the fuck out without ever thinking about those fuckass statements again!! like what are we dunking on him for!! who would chalk that up to anything other than "my weirdass boss has clearly taken his eccentric edwardian magician LARP too far but goddamn if that check doesn't come in every month"
So I may have finally listened to that one podcast and I’m feeling completely normal about it.
Please don’t ask where I’ve been for the last
*checks notes*
Yikes, a year almost? I’ve been busy with life lol
I've been going through tma recently at the request of my girlfriend. She has, on multiple occasions, showed me the Jurgen Leitner rant. I know I'm not very far into it yet (MAG 53), but I'm under the impression he's getting a bad rep.
Like, we're dealing with a setting where people literally get eaten by the sky and evil worms that burrow into people and kill them in minutes. We're dealing with a setting where Fuckhands McMike can banish literally anyone to the Backrooms (and stab Jon??? Because he feels like it?????) and yet we hate Jurgen because he liked literature. ok. I am SURE there's more awful people out there than a silly lil fucked up book collector
Dude just wants a cool library and I support this, even if he's a little messed up. If he got his hands on the Necronomicon I firstly, wouldn't be surprised and secondly, would support him.
But I'm not buying it. Someone in the setting's gotta be worse
Like... Tim? No, Tim's an absolute himbo fuckboy, we can't hate him. Who else? Sasha's been kinda funky and off-putting since Mag 40 but hasn't been evil, Martin's our bestest cinnamon roll boy, and Jon's just a dedicated lil guy who gets beat up because the world hates him for no reason. We just met that new girl, Basira? She's got good vibes and I'd probably kill for Gertrude
Who else is left?? OH, ELIAS. He owns the archives and told off Jon to "not stalk his coworkers" (ok fun police), which is offensive to both me and Jon, so he automatically goes in the "bitch-ass mf" category and I do not like him
Jon's suspicious of him and SO AM I
(I'll reblog this when I get further in with more details, no spoilers please)
Update #1:
I have now listened to Mag 74. I am VERY sure something is up with Sasha - she is no longer just "funky and off-putting" but actively concerning me greatly. Mag 68 says she appeared "too tall" for a moment to Jon and the fact she's been going into the tunnels and lying about it???
This is speculation, but I am now fully convinced something bad happened in Mag 40 with her hiding in artifact storage with that damned SPIRAL TABLE. I hate that table (it's very cool but every time it shows up something bad's going down). First time we hear of it, a drain-pipe monster climbs into an apartment and just begins masquerading as some dude it obviously killed.
And Sasha's shutterstock boyfriend?? Tom? Is likely the driver for Breekon & Hope (they share the same name and there simply cannot be multiple Toms in London, I do not believe it) and they "met at the wax museum"?? I'm sorry but no one meets their SO at the wax museum. Sasha is NOT the kind of person to fall in love with a man staring at a wax model of King George VI. Nope.
Theory of mine is the pipe monster got her (or a different one). Why else would the tapes of Sasha and what went down go "missing"? "Sasha" and her stock photo "Tom" boyfriend are not fooling me.
(Not much to say on Elias (ew) or Leitner, but I will provide updates on them as I feel I have enough to talk about - actually, on the series as a whole since everyone seems interested)
Update 2: Mag 82
Soooo yeah, Mag 80 happened :)))
To say I am okay might be a slight overstatement. I have now been inducted into the knowledge of "extended sounds of brutal pipe murder" by my "very sympathetic" girlfriend. Do I still think he's a silly lil fucked up book collector? Yes. Have my opinions of him soured? Also yes. Still, Elias (ew) remains a bitch-ass mf and I really don't like him now. But the way he shut down Daisy?? Application is key, I guess. Jurgen did not deserve that end though and I am mourning the loss of the ability to use the "#in the tunnels" tag. I will excitedly reblog this just to use the tag if the tunnels come back.
ALSO, I CALLED IT WITH SASHA AND STOCK PHOTO TOM BOYFRIEND?? I'm sad I got it right, though. Poor Sasha. I'll truly miss her. I will cherish her presence on my re-listen.
Breekon & Hope and Elias (ew) seem to be the most evil characters so far and I am very excited to see how it goes. I want some damn closure.
I am really interested in how Season 3 will go now that Jon is (I assume temporarily) gone from the Institute. That Elias (ew) says he knows exactly where Jon is though??? And hasn't done anything beyond sending tapes?? Also Jon's statement on his first interaction with an Entity and Leitner book is actually really eerie. (And shoutout to Georgie for letting Jon stay at her place, even if she's in the dark about some stuff. I am a Georgie fan. I might have to kill for her if she keeps it up)
Update 3: Mag 100
OKAY, I HAVE THOUGHTS. I am beginning to truly comprehend mannequin horror now.
One thing I have to say is that I love how interconnected every Mag is beginning to feel. I'm only halfway through and it just got exciting with the season 3 Jon drama and a new person meeting with Elias - an Avatar of the Void? ALSO, why why why am I starting to like Elias now??? Don't get me wrong, I still hate him, but he's such a bitch-ass mf to everyone he's around that I can't help but like him?? Just a bit?
I feel so bad for Jon though. He has not had a break this entire season. From Daisy and Basira's involvement, the discovery of his own Avatar-like status of the Eye (also love the audio crackle whenever he uses his power of compulsion aaaaaa), his hand getting burned, the whole instance with Michael Crew (rip bozo) and that DAMN CARTHAGINIAN GORILLA SKIN.
Also, as much as I absolutely love Jon, I'm really glad other characters are getting their own screentime. Melanie IS BACK, BABY, and I am happy about that (but sorry for her, getting trapped in the Insititute). I will always appreciate a Martin moment and Tim still remains the dry comedic relief that I love him for being. Georgie continues to be amazing and her own Mag was particularly incredible.
Not much more to say this time, but it's really getting interesting now. (Sorry about the delays btw, classes have launched many major projects at me all at once and it's been stressful - but I'm okay! Just lacking in free time).
Brief update this time. I'm on Mag 197. 3 more to go.
Heartbreaking: man found accurately predicting something in the worst way possible.
S5 might be my favourite of them all. Jon really went above and beyond for the writing, and despite being made halfway through The Plague, Alexander and the rest of the team did fantastic with the production and everything.
Can't wait to do my re-listen and see just how connected everything is. But I will wait, because the last 3 mags are there and I will listen to them when I am emotionally ready.
Until then, peace. Thanks for all the love these silly insane-man-conspiracy-theory posts of mine have gotten.
Been a while. Finished it - Mag 200 done. Ouch, it hurts.
Thanks to everyone who found & will find these silly posts of mine. Starting Protocol now... wish me luck
