The Kalyazin RT-64 radio telescope, constructed in the USSR, was originally designed for communication with robotic missions to Venus and Mars, with ambitions for manned missions to these planets. Although the manned missions never materialized, the telescope continues to operate to this day, standing as a testament to early space exploration efforts.
