The sabers seemed to do the trick. Distracted as the robot was with attacking Jamie, the robot could whirl its top half back around to see the attacks coming, but they were moving too fast. In trying to take down a second ranger quickly, it had left itself too exposed. “Meddlesome gnats! This technology is too slow to keep up with you? Then I’ll build something better! If this junk could take down one of you, then next time I’ll destroy the rest!” The robot was hit several times by the rangers and their various sabers attacks. And while normal blades would do nothing to a robot like this, Omegamax Sabers were designed to attack with waves of energy, and their resulting blasts knocked BadCop down and back, away from the rangers. The robot tumbled several times, and as he did, a red glow rippled over his body before breaking free, snapping like a release of tension.

“Rangers, finish the job and recover the Red Omega Morpher!”

When BadCop stood back up, his voice had returned to normal, and Hemlock’s glowing red eye was gone. “Oh…I need backup! I need backup!” BadCop seemed ripe for a big ol’ Ranger takedown, quivering and shaking where he stood. Yet it almost seemed wrong to destroy him. He was just following the laws that were written. And he looked so pathetic now…

“Don’t count on it.” Riley retorted, giving one final joint slash with the others. As the robot was knocked back, Riley held her saber out poised and ready to defend. At the sound of the commander’s voice, Riley spared a glance at the ground. Where was the morpher?

There! Laying on the cracked pavement just a few yards away was the Red Omega Morpher. It must have fallen off Jai’s wrist when he got zapped. But there wasn’t enough time to grab it, not yet, they had to finish this guy off first.

But he looked so pathetic now that he wasn’t possessed by the creepy mad pirate. But he’d taken Jai.  

Riley grabbed her morpher, stepping towards the quivering monster, “BadCop, I charge you with…! Wait a minute.” She turned to the other rangers. “Commander said Hemlock hacked the penal codes… Everybody shout out arrests until something sticks!!!”

“I charge you with disrupting the peace, unlawful imprisonment, assault and battery?”

“Oh uh, okay? I charge you with assault of an officer, unlawful bias, and use of SPD tech in Unlawful ways!” Anita stepped forward with her morpher, standing next to Riley.

[ADMIN’S NOTE: Due to the various real world complications we suffered, we’ll be extending this event by 4 days to October 22nd!]

The rangers began to bombard the robotic cop from all directions, sparks around his feet and sparking off various plates of his armor. The robot staggered back a few steps, and little streams of smoke trailed up from where he’d been blasted. But he was far from going down.  “What’s the matter Rangers?” Hemlock’s sultry voice echoed from BadCop’s mouth, “Your little blasters not able to stand up to even basic SPD technology? I thought you were supposed to be the UPgrade?” Hemlock wasn’t as dumb as BadCop, however, since he immediately whirled the top half of his torso around to face Jamie, the only ranger who had moved to his back, and thus, was furthest from the other rangers.

“I may not be able to arrest you inside those suits, but I can still end you!” Hemlock’s voice called out as he charged, sending a few swipes with his metal fists at Jamie. They were slow, but packed a punch. It seemed like without his arresting laser, BadCop was reduced to just close range maneuvers. He hammered at her chest with a double fisted attack, trying to knock her to the ground so he could finish her off.

“Rangers! You can’t be scared and hang back!” Sky’s voice filled their helmets, “Remember: Your strength is as a team! Divide and conquer will only make you more vulnerable to being picked off. Hemlock’s too smart to just sit back and let you shoot his robot into oblivion, and without all five rangers, I don’t know that we have the power to do so anyway. Your OmegaMax blasters have two modes. Blaster, and Saber. Get in close and get him off Jamie. Then you’ll need to coordinate your attacks and fire a single combined OmegaMax Barrage using both blasters modes at the same time. Then maybe we can punch through some of that armor plating and take this hunk of pirated technology down.”

Riley mentally berated herself, it had been her plan after all, stupid Riley stupid. “Sorry Commander, I-  Jaime!”

Riley looked up to see Jaime taking punches from BadCop. She listened to the rest of the commander’s message with her jaw clenched, switching her OmegaMax blaster to saber mode. She charged. 

“You are not taking another member of my team!!!” Riley slashed the robots exposed back, before attempting to spin him around to face her instead of Omega Yellow.

Jaime had been hit twice now and she wasn’t about to let her new friend take any more damage. “Jaime get back!” She slashed at Hemlock, anger and determination fueling her moves.

 Let’s see what this ranger upgrade could do.

Anita looked at the others before grabbing her blaster again “OmegaMax Blaster, Saber mode, activate!” She ran towards the cop bot. Anita’s saber was wider than the others with a hand guard that looked like a rapier’s, Hitting at each spot she aimed to take down the armor on the arms and legs, striking hard

“Hyeon, You get the legs, I have the arms!” She yells out as their leader was currently helping Jamie

One by the one, the morphers on their wrists would activate in accordance with the morphing phrase, and when their hands were thrust forward, a hologram of their suits would leap out in front of them before slamming back into their bodies, brightly colored suits form fitting to their bodies. In the center of their chests would be a bright SPD badge, and from it six black straps would shoot out, wrapping around each ranger like a chorus of seatbelts. Only then would each of them find themselves outfitted according to color. Only one ranger failed to appear in spandex…

Jai was against the ground, having cracked his head against pavement when he was tossed back by the explosion. He morpher’s strap had ripped off, and he was undefended.

“Rangers! Finally!” Sky’s voice would buzz into their helmets as soon as they were on. “That robot is using SPD’s technology to capture citizens. According to what I have here, Hemlock has hacked the penal codes and added several new laws to enable his robots to arrest any human on earth who isn’t inside a designated work camp. As long as you remain morphed, his robots cannot compress you, but do not challenge any of them as civilians. We got lucky that Riley was the distraction. Anyone else would’ve been a goner.”

As if talking about it in their helmets made it real, Bad Cop staggered away from the brightly colored suits. “SPD Rangers!? You should be helping me arrest these humans! They’ve violated the la-la-la-la-a-a-a-a-a-” Bad Cop would seize mid sentence, his body sparking and stuttering before his left eye turned a bright red and he got himself under control. When he spoke again his voice was more..seductive. Deeper and menacing. “So this is it? The last gasp of a dying organization? I do enjoy watching the doomed pathetically fight to maintain control. Greetings Rangers. This is Bad Cop, but you may call me Hemlock. There is no system I cannot infiltrate. No wall I cannot breach. No technology I cannot…liberate. The people of this planet are mine. And you’ll do well to remember that includes each and every one of you!” Bad Cop turned smoothly, extending an arm at the unconscious Jai. Without a word, one of the red X’s hurtled through the air, turning their previous leader into a flat card of metal. It floated into Bad Cop’s hand, and like before he slid open his chest cavity and stored the card inside. Now that they were closer, it was obvious the cards weren’t physically inside the chest cavity. When he inserted Jai’s card there, it seemed to vanish entirely. “Now, who would like to join him?”

“Jai!” Riley screamed as her teammate, her rival, was captured. She looked to the other rangers who looked equally shocked and devastated, and some a little pissed. With no red, she’d have to step up. Looks like she’d gotten what she wanted, in the worst possible way. But for now she had 3 civilian rangers who had just watched their leader and new friend get captured in their first fight. She took a breath. She had some rallying to do.

“Rangers.” She called to get their attention, “We have to focus, we have to do this for Jai and everyone else we’ve lost. Are you with me?”

She nodded to them each in turn. “Alright, close range attacks are a no go for now. Hyeon, you’re light on your feet, see if you can draw him out but don’t get too close, I want to see what else this guy is capable of.” Riley pulled out her blaster and turned to the other girls, “Anita, Jaime, lets come at him from multiple angles, try to find a weak spot.”

“Let’s do this.”

“On it!” Anita looking at where their leader stood made sure not to let her emotions or feelings get the best of her. She took out her Omegamax Blaster and began to fire at BadCop’s badge, thinking there would be a port or something for exhaust. “Hey Bad Cop, why don’t you Cop a feel of these blasts!”

“This better work” Anita hits a few other Rowbots as she clears a circle for herself. Hair down now from its loose ponytail she had, she cracked her knuckles and rolled her head

Anita flew back with the Rowbot’s assault as she grunted in pain before getting back up. Taking her laser pistol out from it’s holster she fired at the bots, running in to try and gather more civilians, namely the ones who scattered in the assault. Hitting a few of the bots on the head and doing some high kicks towards the other bots, before seeing a metal pipe, and taking it and swinging it around in the Rowbot’s heads, slowly getting surrounded by the mooks.

MTE #1; Shelters Under Attack!

All five rangers rushed to the rescue, pulling up in the SPD Swat vehicle. Citizens were fleeing everywhere from the refugee center that was under attack. It was an old converted warehouse that had been hastily fitted with beds and bathrooms. Except now its doors were blown off of its hinges, and the beds were being tossed around by tiny robots. They were only about four feet tall, with round metal bodies and heads sunk into the torsos with no necks. They had three glowing green eyes in their metal head, and made clanking, chittering sounds to converse with each other. They had rifles pointed at the humans, but they weren’t shooting them. They seemed to be gathering them and pushing them towards another figure.

“X means you’re guilty! And you’re guilty! And you’re guilty! Haaaa ha ha ha!” The voice was gruff and enthusiastic, and the rangers would notice a large blue robot, with red flashing lights on his shoulderpads. His head was molded to look like an old fashioned police cap. And when he held up his hands, a glowing red X would appear. As the rangers arrived, one of these X’s would hit a fleeing woman, and in a flash, the woman would disappear, leaving only a small metallic card clattering to the ground. The blue robot would saunter over to the card before tapping his chest twice. The robot’s chest would slide open, revealing a filing cabinet of sorts, full of other silver cards that, presumably, used to be refugees. “Guilty humans go in the cabinet! Oh this has never been so easy!”

Rangers! This is your first challenge! You have two objectives!

– Clear out the Rowbots in the refugee center and rescue the citizens. – Take down the police robot and free the citizens trapped inside him.

Morphin’ Time Events have a dedicated POST ORDER and TIME LIMIT to reply! This event will last until OCTOBER 17th at 3PM EST (2PM CST, 12PM PST). Rescue the citizens before then, or Hemlock will get them!! At the end of each post, TAG the next ranger (or villain) with the @ symbol. That ranger will have 24 HOURS to make their move. If they fail to post, the villains will get an extra turn and the main will tag the next ranger in line. Winning will require you to work as a team! 

The Current Post Order is as follows! Police Robot -> Omega Red -> Omega Black -> Omega Yellow -> Omega Pink -> Omega Blue. If you need to change the post order amongst yourselves, that is fine. But each of you can only have one turn before the police robot, and you can’t take a turn for somebody else.

When in Morphin Time Events, feel free to control Rowbots as you see fit. They are dumb, do dumb things, follow simple commands, and generally are easy to defeat. Do not godmod hits on the police robot or its actions. Treat it like you would treat any character, because it is a character. It’s just mine. And Evil.

With that said; @jaikims your team has just landed! You are all unmorphed. You know your two objectives and Sky’s extra rule of “save the people first, everything else is disposable”. What do you do?

The scene was a mess. Debris scattered about, people screaming, Hemlock’s Rowbots gathering civilians for this chaotic Cop-Bot. Jai opened the driver side door to the SWAT van, jumping out without hesitation. He took a moment to assess the situation, before addressing his team. 

“Marcus, Kim, get those civilians seperated from the Rowbots and to safety; Scott, Cooper, you’re with me. We’re bringing the big guy in the opposite direction once they’re clear. Do not morph until we’re sure the people trapped inside are free,” Even if history had proven that people trapped in monsters were generally freed upon the monsters’ destruction, they couldn’t take the chance that Hemlock operated differently to previous threats, “Is that clear? Good, now let’s go, Rangers!”

“On it” Anita plows her way through some of the Rowbots, heading towards some of the civilians, mainly the kids and elderly “C’mon, you’re safe with us, let’s get you out of here” She says.

She looks back at Hyeon, “Pinky, you go get any others from the sector, I’ve got the kids” She yells, looking at her morpher as she led the children and elderly to one of the mobile transport stations, staying with them for a little bit.

Oh great, it was perky, didn’t think she would make it, or that she’d be a ranger. Anita wasn’t really social with the other recruits, only really focused on making the world a better place, so when the realization of what SPD did was wrong, it just shattered her look of the organization.

She was in the shooting range, a laser pistol in her hand as she fired, feeling as though she was rusty at the shots, hoping the other didn’t want to talk.

“Oh hey, Anita right?” Riley skipped up to a open shooting lane close to the other girl. “How are you settling in?”

Anita pretended to not notice the other, continuing her shots making clean with each and every target.

“Yeah,” Riley grabbed a standard blaster and readied her shot. “I’m still adjusting too.” Riley began firing. Her first few shots were a little off. She adjusted herself accordingly. “It’s good to see you again. I mean I know we didn’t know each other in the academy or anything but all the same, it’s good to see a familiar face after everything.”

“Ok look, I know that you’re this peppy perky girl but I’m not interested in being buddy buddy” She starts, putting her blaster down for a larger mini gun type blaster clearing off the target “We’re just doing a job and when that’s done, we go our separate ways, especially given SPD’s track record”

Riley’s grip tightened on her blaster. Her smile stiffened. “You’re right, we do have a job to do. Part of that job is being on a team and working together. Even if it means pairing up a peppy perky girl with a moody snooty wall.” She paused then looked over at the other’s expression and laughed. “Sorry, this is a weird situation and I’m just trying to make it work.” Riley went back to firing before remembering, “Wait track record?”

“Oh you know, the whole giving the harsher punishments to people who don’t have the human look down,” She looked at the other, putting the mini gun down, sighing “Of course wouldn’t expect little miss last place in the entrance exam to get it”

Ranger Estranged

@avengerrangeranita gets a plotted starter!

“Cadet Marcus!” Sky’s voice was authoritative, a little angry even, as he appeared in the doorway of the woman’s bunk in their psuedo-command center. “It’s come to my attention that you’ve been slacking in your duties. Avoiding the group training exercises.” Of all the rangers, getting Anita to play nice was the hardest of them all. Jai was a flake, but had a good heart. Jamie was practically throwing herself at…her ranger duties, and Hyeon was at least trying. Riley he didn’t even have to really monitor. She knew what to do. But Anita? He would have to drag her into her job, or confiscate the morpher and give it to someone else.

“Mind filling me in on what’s so urgent that saving the world is less important?”

“Hmm, well first of all don’t like the tone” She says in a sarcastic tone, “Second, you may have the rest wrapped your little blue finger but I only joined here to fight Hemlock, and right now, it don’t look like that”

How did I get myself into this

Jamie was currently in what passed for a gym in the place she’d been taken after being recruited. Currently she was performing a kata and going through a series of martial arts moves. In her mind, she recalled being recruited from the bunker she and her father had holed up in along with their karate students and some other citizens. She’d only agreed to go after some arguing and assurance that those there would be moved to a safer location.

Emotions were high-she could feel a lot of grief, anger, and other things. The kata helped her relax, but she wondered if there was anyone in this place a little more in control of their emotions, or she’d have to done the old motorcycle helmet she’d brought along.

To say Anita was thrilled to be in the place she hated most would be a flat out lie, she despised SPD and what it became. She hated the fact that it just became a judge to aliens, giving them harsher and harsher punishments than to those who were more human in appearance.

She walked into the gym, hair tied back into a low ponytail as she wrapped the jumpsuit’s upper half around her waist, going to another dummy in the gym, practicing some moves herself as she looked at the other female.
