Adam was absolutely in awe with how amazing Avery handled everything. Being a new mom to a little baby was tough. He remembered the first few months alone with Jasper. The countless sleepless nights, constantly feeling like he was failing as a parent and being scared to do something wrong…after all, there was this tiny, little human being that needed all of his attention and he was always so scared to break him. With Noah, he was a little more calm, but there was still that little fear of making mistakes. But him and Avery were an incredible team and handled it perfectly. Sometimes Adam wished he could do more to help Avery, but there were certain things he just couldn’t do. He couldn’t feet her unless Avery pumped, but he knew that breastfeeding was what’s best for their baby so he gladly let Avery take over. The officer tried to be there for other things like changing diapers, helping as much as he could in the house if he didn’t have to work.
He already thought about what else he could do for his little family and planned on working on the garden in the summer. He wanted a cosy little place for a bonfire, a nice lounge for Avery to relax in from time to time and a jungle gym for his kids. Thinking about it made him chuckle a little to himself. He was such a dad now. Adam sat down and watched Avery with their daughter. “A day in the park sounds perfect. That man definitely needs to get some energy off.”, Adam laughed and looked at his son outside who was running around in the garden. “You finish feeding her, I’ll prepare some snacks.” he smiled and got up, kissing Avery’s forehead genly before heading into the kitchen. He cut up some fruits, packed some crackers and grabbed a few bottles to drink. He put everything in a back and grabbed Noah’s stroller, putting it in the car already.
Avery had some idea of what she was doing, thanks to her helping in raising Jasper. However, she didn’t remember being quite this tired and exhausted. It was certainly a difference going through pregnancy herself and being there from the start. It felt like a weird mix of being calm yet still some pressure in not wanting to do something wrong. She still had the new mom nerves. Of course it was a big help to have Adam right there and she knew she could always count on him. They had built this life together better than anything she would’ve ever imagined for herself.
A smile appeared on her lips when her husband agreed to the idea. “Yeah, he does,” she laughed. “And hopefully it’ll make him sleep good tonight.” As Adam went to get things ready for their day at the park, Avery finished feeding Noah and burped her. “Are you ready to have a fun day in the park?” she hummed to the baby and planted kisses to her cheek. “Let’s get your brother.” She got up, holding Noah in her arms as she went to call Jasper in from playing outside. “Hey buddy, we’re getting ready to go to the park. Dad’s already putting stuff in the car.” She chuckled at the boy’s excitement as he ran out to the car before she could say anything more. Avery made sure that she had everything needed in the diaper bag - extra clothes, diapers, wipes, Noah’s blanket, etc. She made her way to the car, with the diaper bag slung over her shoulder. Once she had Noah secured in her car seat and Jasper was buckled up, they were ready. “Alright, I think we got everything. Let’s go.”
