Horror Movie Marathon || Tavery
The last week of Tyler’s life had been consumed with nothing but movies and video games. He wasn’t so much worried about school as he had been about getting it out of his mind. Throughout the last few months he had immersed himself in academics. Getting nearly perfect grades and not missing a day of school for anything. It was all used as a distraction because it was what he needed. He was aware that everyone around him seemed to be slowly losing their minds or going out of their way to make sure the town was busing with all sort of news. Once this began happening, Tyler separated himself from the rest of the people. He was never one to be the center of attention and he felt that if he hung around long enough instead of going home, he would no doubt get caught up in something he would rather not waste his time with. Isolating himself wasn’t difficult and he preferred to be alone to begin with. No one was around to question his actions and criticize the way he spent his free time. His mother would often encourage him to go out and see some of his friends. He would comply from time to time just so she wouldn’t worry.
On this particular evening Tyler had decided to leave his house on his own accord. His mother had just gotten home and he thought he would give her a break for a night and spare her the trouble of asking if he’d left the house. He was hungry anyways. It was hot out, with summer rapidly approaching the days began to get more warm. Walking for a short amount of time could easily make someone sweat. The dry Georgia heat was always the worst in the summer. Knowing that he didn’t want to walk tonight, he headed straight for his car. As soon as he stated the engine, his phone began to vibrate. Pulling it out of his pocket, he could feel a smile form on his lips when he read the name on the screen. He brought the phone to his ear and put the car in drive. “Avery." He said obviously happy to hear the voice he hadn’t heard for the better part of the last week. “No, I was about to go get something to eat. How are you feeling?" He knew that she’d been sick and even offered to bring her anything she needed on several occasions but from what he knew she hadn’t bothered to leave her bed. He supposed the fact that she called was a sign that she was getting better.
Avery lost count of how long she had actually been lying on her kitchen floor. She was sort of thankful that she was home alone because she knew that if her parents were home and found her like this, she would definitely be institutionalized. There was no doubt about it. As comfy as the blanket was however, she was starting to feel the effects of being wrapped up in it during the summer. She was sweating and it was making her clothes stick to her body, she needed to get out of this trap. She had momentarily forgotten that she was on the phone with Tyler as she started to unwrap herself from the blanket so she could breathe again. It was quite difficult with one hand and she groaned when she realized that she hadn’t made any progress. Why did she think that this would be a good idea? It took her a few minutes but she finally came to the conclusion that she was never going to get free from this blanket. It was going to be the cause of her death. She was going to die of heat exhaustion or starvation, whichever came first.
She was brought back to reality when she heard someone calling her name. Wait, wasn't she home alone? Then it clicked, she was still on the phone with Tyler. "Sorry, I'm having an Avery moment..." She didn't feel the need to clarify her situation, the two had been together long enough for that simple statement to make sense to him or maybe it only made sense to her and Dianna. Who even knew? She bit down on the inside of her cheek for a moment to think back to what the two had been talking about previously before she went frantic trying to get out of her blanket. The brunette thought he had mentioned something about getting food but she couldn't remember clearly. "Food? You're going to get food?" Maybe she wasn't going to die of starvation right away, just death by blanket. "Want to be the best boyfriend ever and get me food? I'm going to die of starvation on this floor. That's going to be a slow and painful death. I'm not looking forward to it. Unless the blanket kills me first. I still haven't figured which one is going to do me in first."
