Save the last dance

Chaz reached Matt and fixing his shirt, he smiled at the groom. âWhat can I do for you, your highness?â he joked, wondering why Matt had called him over. âMy bride,â he said, putting extra emphasis on the word on purpose. Chaz wasnât sure if it was because Matt liked to say that now or because he wanted to emphasize that it was Pixie and not him. Maybe both. âShe wanted me to tell you to ask out Avery.â Chazâs eyebrows furrowed as he made some sort of confused, caught off guard face. âWell, thatâs a little forward,â he muttered. Matt raised his arms in innocence. âIâm just the messenger. But what I wanted to ask was, I left my wallet in the backroom. Can you go get it for me?â Sighing, he waved his hand as if to dismiss the question, but nodded anyway as he made his way to grab his friendâs wallet. It didnât take him long to locate it and bring it back. Matt thanked him and Chaz promptly went back to his seat where he saw that Avery was there too. Grinning, he sat down. âHey. Iâm back,â he told her as if she were waiting for him, which she probably wasnât.
When she caught sight of him approaching their table, Averyâs heart couldnât help but skip a beat. She hadnât felt like this before in a long time with a guy and it was ridiculous because she had just met Chaz. Unable to contain the grin forming on her face when he said he was back, she cleared her throat and blushed a little, hoping she wasnât all too obvious. âWelcome back, what did Matt want?â she wondered curiously, before looking over at him and then her lap. Playing with her hands nervously, she turned her head a little when she heard Pixie laughing. âPixie apparently needed help with her veil even though she had a ton of people to help her,â Avery explained, leaving out the part where Pixie wanted her to ask Chaz out. âFeels like Iâve been errand girl throughout this whole wedding,â Avery joked and giggled a little.
