Whenever I watch shows that are like a decade or 2 old, I'm hit with this sense of loss and wish there was more stuff like this despite the fact that I don't know what that is i want to be seen more often in media nowadays. It's a very jarring feeling I felt towards avengers assemble and TT03 and I could never explain it

haha yeah, though ironically I much prefer consuming media that way. I wait for years until the hype's gone and the series completed and thennn I look into them, it removes the expectations and chunk of potential disappointment of whats to come, y'know?
and I think i understand a bit, perhaps you want to see more of the same universe or something with the same creative direction? genuinely nowadays I'm jaded at the idea because corporate are doing the nostalgia baits and they always lose the point of what made them good and thus ruined some legacies, but hey thats just me.

in almost all iterations, Wallace "Wally" Rudolph West grew up as a fan of The Flash and had a rough childhood with his parents to varying degrees (different runs, different takes, whether abuse or mere tough love; just like all comics they have different universes)
Iris West is his blood aunt who's a journalist/reporter and Barry Allen aka The Flash is his forensic-scientist uncle (or uncle-figure, if they're not married i guess), and as Kid Flash, The Flash is his mentor figure.
Wally got his powers by accident at a lab (struck by lightning) and it ties him to The Speed force.
The Speed force is this wormhole thing speedsters can access; its what give their sci-fi physics-based powers (like manipulating molecules and running in hyperspeed) and they can travel through time with it.
this was briefly mentioned in the TT03 comic in passing :
in regards of his future, Wally either becomes The Flash after his uncle (either Barry retires or he dies) or retire before that. (sometimes loss of power, sometimes by choice)
also Flash fam has this common trait of having funny, old people names lol, Wallace, Bartholomew, etc.
and thats kinda all you need to know, let Jesus (the writers) take the wheel for the rest, haha.
i myself only know surface-level stuff with comics in general, so there's no shame in it really, because you can just pick and choose and comics have multiverses anyway so no worriessss. 💁♀️
oh right one more thing, in mainstream canon and most common iteration post the 80s, Wally is a red head with green eyes, functionally to separate him from Barry Allen. (who has blue eyes)
what differentiate most other runs and TT03 universe is that TT03 Wally is a red head with blue eyes instead. I tend to pronounce this detail in my work specifically, to emphasize this is an elseworld specific of TT03 universe and has nothing to do with other Wallys in other current running series.
(Judas Contract also have the blue eyes, but his hair dirty blonde—brown-ish haha)
I point this out in case you're wondering why some fic or fanart give him green eyes instead, some fanartist/writers probably prefer the current canon depiction than being 1:1.

jokes aside, yeah i figured at least within my own fanwork series, not only i want to make people remember Flinx, that i want to bring to the forefront what Flinx could've been if they had more screentime (both as a ship and as individuals), but also i want to remind others what the TT03 elseworld universe was all about and what it entailed.
i mean, almost everyone in the fandom does not do that anyway, either out of preference or, worse, the rose-tinted glasses are so thick they forget. so multiple birds, one stone kinda thing, y'know? haha.
oh and just to clear the air, I actually have no preference with Raven-related ships. i guess to some this may be hypocritical of me because
"ermmm didn't you say not to draw ships you don't ship?"
well, except Goth Boy is a thing in the 03 show and comic even after the show ended, and it's always meant to serve as a visual gag rather than anything remotely deeper hahahha. (his name being just "Goth" and their dates being just them standing there is a testament to that) and i'm just paying tribute and respect to that original setting.
also ngl, 03 Raven always felt in the Aro-spectrum to me personally (specifically romance-repulsed, or aroflux?) and the comic somewhat emphasized that haha.
while she did fangirl about Aqualad along with Starfire, but it never went any deeper than starstruck to me. (especially, its probably just to emphasize that 03 Aqualad is canonically a top teen heartthrob, along with Kid Flash, Robin, Speedy.... oh and Wildebeest)
and lets not bring Malchior in the convo, for obvious reasons.
and personally, i don't blame the fandom for leaving Cy alone or shipping Cy with Bee much, because at least for the latter, they do have prevalent back-and-forth in the show.
meanwhile, the 03 companion comic where Sarah Simms only existed in (we don't count Sarasim), was so obscure (also only issue 1-20 gets reprinted, not the ones after) people forgot Bee's briefly paired with The Herald instead (presumably as tribute to their original DC counterparts.)
this probably harbors as an unpopular opinion but honestly i hold a firm believe that if you don't ship something just... don't draw or write them. context being unpaid fanwork, stuff you make for fun for yourself and fellow fans alike.
i'd much prefer reading or seeing tagged ship work written by at least fellow likers of the ship.
because its very obvious when one only include them out of obligation, or don't like it and want to separate them, and not necessarily because the fan writer/artist gave a damn, the fans aren't stupid y'know? i can tell when theres no heart to it.

Let me tell you something. If every DC and other Teen Titans adaptation had the same 2003 voice actors (like every Powerpuff Girls adaptation, except for the 2016 one) on the Titans, would that make you feel happy and nostalgic, and would it be like watching the 2003 show have a continuous series?

okay i'll be frank, i don't really pay attention to VAs that much. i barely remember their names or faces or keep track of any of them.
VAs don't affect my judgments or experience when i consume media, as I listen to many dubs and they all have different voices and takes. i'd judge their performance and direction, but i don't have any "this One Guy™️ has to voice this one specific character always" must-haves.
now that i've set the scene, no, it wouldn't.
I remember this quote from a YouTuber that said something like 'Character's voice is the core identity of the character' in regard to VAs, and while I have my own judgments, people do associate certain voices, sound quirks, and VAs with characters when it's ingrained enough.
nostalgia is a thick rose-tinted glasses and a corporate marketing trap, they're doing that with TTG, and I still don't like that series lmao.
in general i wouldn't like it either i think because it strips one part of the identity of the character/series those voices are associated with.
personally speaking, if it's not a direct sequel and instead a new original, animated DC project, I don't want it to be nostalgic to a previous iteration at all! just be confident to be your own thing, make something new, and not dilute one version with the other.
its just that, again, on the circumstance of reimagining something new, they don't need to bring Tara Strong to every single animated Raven iteration on the planet just because TT03 did that once, you feel me?
its a different case with PPG because they don't exactly have an elseworld except in the comics and the anime (which is a different take all together). i guess i'm kinda glad they cast different girls to voice 2016 PPG because i can just pretend that series is a completely different universe.
i guess in summary, and this is just my own hot take, while i have no preferences for VAs, I think for the audience at large, different VAs help set a barrier of differences between one iteration/universe/era and the other.

okay so in regard to Earth-3a, a variant of Earth-3 and elseworld within my Teen Titans : Side-B AU, despite me drawing him more often, Red Bolt is actually somewhat of a wild card.
odds of the HIVE Heroes meeting him are a bit slim and thus not very often, because his turf is Keystone City, he only sticks around the Tyrants when Red Robin asks him for a favor and vice versa.
not only that, the Teen Tyrants are usually dealt with the Brotherhood of Justice and not the young HIVE Heroes because of how risky dealing with them is. so the very few times HIVE are sent out to stop Teen Tyrants, Red Bolt may be there too, not always, but maybe.
thing is even when they cross paths, he doesn't bother speaking or keeping eye contact with other HIVE members except Lady Luck.
only she can take a closer look and knows the further scope of Red Bolt on a personal level, due to her goodness (naivety?), she promised to keep his secrets and their private encounters between the two of them.
her teammates are very much in the dark except from already recorded public data, like the fact that he's among the most dangerous bad guys (cue KF's "one of the best" line) who's around their age.
anyway, since you're a new Flinx liker + TT03 watcher, here's a little doodle for ya to illustrate the scenario above haha.

What’s your thoughts on him? Could even just be an “I don’t really care for him” type thing, I’m just curious.
I’m also curious if you have any thoughts on Angel too, and what her deal with Kyd is. A lot of people ship them but I personally lean towards siblings, as they’ve got very similar things going on with their eyes.
haha, aren't we all blorboing minor TT03 characters? i swear if that show ran for longer each characters would have massive fanbases preceding actual japanese animes like Naruto (for 2000s kid) or BNHA (for 2010s kid)
anyway my thoughts? well he's a former HIVE Academy student and later a HIVE FIVE member, thats for sure haha, but i'm not drawing a complete blank with him either.
so according to some info i've heard, he was initially created to be just a cool bad guy. but given how eerily similar he is visually to Raven for some reason (even the companion comic showcased this by Raven disguising as him)
i propose a hypothesis (er, connecting non-existent dots) that perhaps he's to be Raven's foil or play a role similar to hers for the HIVE FIVE. like how Gizmo is the tech wiz, like Cyborg, Jinx is the leader that called the shots and barked orders (yes, they keep forgetting this detail, TT03 Jinx was the leader, not Gizmo.), so on.
in which another character to share that initial role was also Jinx.
its safe to form the idea that both he and Jinx were supposed to be two sides of Raven for the HIVE FIVE, if that make sense.
one embodies femininity, magic, and dark arts, and the other is the overall mysterious vibe and teleportation/portal power of unknown origin, not to mention him meditating like Raven does. (though with his legs unfolded)
with those hypotheticals as basis, i share some headcanons with other folks about his whole thing, which i'll derail a bit to talk about Jinx but i swear its relevant(?)
y'know this framed picture in Jinx's room (before KF indirectly mess it up using her own hexes?) guess what that looked like? the faculty members of the HIVE under Brother Blood's command, yes, but it is kind of odd they're in purple/blue hoods like Raven does, right?
its clear as day this is a reference to the original comic, which was the Church of Blood, a cult that worships Trigon. obviously they can't put this front and center in a kids show haha.
SO that being in her room, despite the academy being in rubbles by this point, is rather peculiar, isn't it? with Jinx's outfit and Wykkyd's overall look, what if both Jinx and he were part of the same "cult"?
maybe thats why he's, in a non-insulting way, a lite version of Raven? hahaha. maybe the cult was trying to do a "Daughters of Aku" with their loyalty for Trigon with Kyd Wykkyd? perhaps thats why they're making Jinx and later Kyd specifically face Raven, though specifically Jinx was always at odds with her even after she becomes part of the Titans. and hey, maybe Kyd and Raven are distant cousins ahhaha, fun stuff.
i also heard headcanons of his design being alike of Batman's, that perhaps he was inspired by the bat and thus used it for his costume but to embody the opposite purpose, whereas instead of striking fear towards specifically bad people, its striking fear towards everyone instead.
as for him and Angel? well, i don't see it as romantic myself but i understand where people come from, they definitely embodied the "Angel-Devil" aesthetic, which is ironic in itself because Angel is a villain (a fallen angel? so they're one in the same, in a sense hehe).
but in my personal take, i'd say both were assigned duo partners during the academy, but after HIVE Academy fell apart, they got separated (and Wykkyd decided to join HIVE FIVE) nor went their separate ways.
they're in the same room again later during the Fearsome Five meet up, which both (and the other remaining, and i'm assuming former, HIVE FIVE members also refused to join into)
oh right i forgot to mention, another detail (purely just visual than anything) that made me buy the whole "Jinx along with Wykkyd has something to do with Trigon i think, whether directly or not" ""theory"" is how Red Raven/Evil Raven looks in the alternate universe. (Issue 47)
i just find it peculiar Elseworld Evil Raven has pink hair and those marks on her cheeks, synonymous with how Jinx is depicted in the comics, although clearly thats not Jinx.
although theres no info around this creative decision, so its flimsy connecting-dots on my part, but its still interesting to point out.
