saying this before tadc ep 7 comes out but the idea of of ragatha, ribbit, jax and kaufmo being a friendgroup tears me apart. like yeah. theyre all friends and kind of a found family. everything is okay. something goes terribly wrong and ribbit abstracts. everything is suddenly very not okay. a part of jax dies too. ragatha wants to fix it. he wont let her. kaufmo (maybe) thinks finding an exit will help. he abstracts while he's looking for one. ragatha and jax are the two they left behind and ragathas not quite sure who jax is anymore. jax isnt sure himself. its so sad man :[

Been pushing back and forth with this HC of jax, but the more i analyze his dissociation im almost getting more certain it might be D.I.D or OSDD

Now, hear me out

Im not talking about the TikTok DID cosplay acounts, I mean true life altering DID that destroys your friendships, your family, your life.

He starts to panic, dissociate, then his asshole side goes full blast. Almost. Every. Time. And if not his asshole side, hes staring into space until his normal asshole or extreme asshole comes out.

Most cases of DID, you really don't notice. The personality is different in the effect of it protecting you. Maybe you suddenly switched to a stand off attitude, or were timid and suddenly picking an argument and you have no idea what why or how to stop. Yiu almost see yourself doing it.

That's kind of almost how I'm seeing Jax. That he almost cant control when he lashes out. He dissociate, and instantly goes push away asshole to the 100 degree. He's always a hero, sure. But his asshole side only comes out when hes pushing people away to protect himself. And he dissociate when it happens

Just an idea, thought, and possible HC. I wanna know thoughts on this too.

feeding onto this headcannon because this is my new favourite concept:

what if it's not jax who pushes everyone away?

what if it's the person above?

"the funny one" is a defence mechanism. the funny one doesn't see himself as a human, or tries to avoid being human as much as possible. it could potentially be because he sees the circus like this

human = abstraction

the funny one fronts whenever he feels threatened, which is a lot of the time. the majority of the time, he could be co-fronting with jax. however, in specific moments, he'll take the reigns completely and ends up doing more harm than good. for example;

in the first photo, its possible that it's only jax fronting. pomni, on multiple occasions, makes it safe enough for him to front. the first time he fronts around pomni is in episode 4, due to the funny one being burnt out from the normal adventure. however, as soon as he feels something human, the funny one forces himself to front instead, because he's terrified of anything human.

the funny one isn't evil. he thinks he's protecting the system(?), even if he's only putting them in more danger.

i think jax is pretty content with being around other people, especially when he's the only one fronting. the funny one (seen as though we don't have another name for him) probably developed before the circus, but became a lot more present while in it.
