A Path For The Eyes
This piece examines how a viewers eye travels through an image. I photographed hydro lines and manipulated them in a way to create an interesting abstract image. In the images with the diamond the viewers eye travels around the clouds, In the image with the X the viewers eye travels straight to the centre of the image. These images are meant to show the importance of lines and how they influence the eye. Lines are a great way for a photographer to create a sense of motion and activate their images.

She Has Seen More Than You Can Even Imagine
(This camera has had two owners in its life time, My grandfather and now myself. I has travelled to 5 continents and to over 35 countries in 40 years.)

Okay, here’s the strategy.
Cardboard box with a pinhole and a lens hole (where my digital camera’s lens fits in) I make an image of my home with a Fuji Instax, stick it inside, seal it shut, and make a digital exposure. Three cameras, one image.

New Challenge Word: Camera
For the theme Digital I am posting these images from a book that I recently produced.
These images were taken to expose the falsity that camera phones capture inferior images. Every image in this collection was taken on a Samsung Galaxy Nexus. This phone has a camera that is capable of capturing 5 megapixel images.
This images are abstract images of paint on velum. The images capture both colours and texture beautifully, showing off the camera phones true ability.
This collection of images is an example of cell phone photography’s true potential. These cameras are becoming more intigrated into our daily lives, and in the near future will serve as more than just social media tools.

Digital. I'm using this image for the theme digital because this is one of the first image's that signal the end of the "puppy love" stage in my relationship with film. This is an image that I'd traditionally make with film and it would have been different, but I like this the way it is and digital imaging has merits and uses that are very valid. Perhaps it's time to look back into that. -A

Ice (Frozen Lake Huron)
This is the most frozen Lake huron has been in at least 8 years. I was able to walk 800 yards out into the lake. The mounds of snow you see are frozen waves that can be up to 6 feet tall.

Last semester we had a project to make a photograph and print it at 30 by 40 inches. I made this photograph of the Royal Ontario Museum by night with an aperture of F45 and an exposure time of approximately four minutes. A
Islington Station
This image was take from a series I did on the Toronto subway. I photographed middle platforms on a 4x5 camera to gain absolute detail and quality. To see the rest of the subway images and more of my work completed at Ryerson you can go to http://500px.com/Robertlangridge/sets/ryerson_work
