The advantages of Using a Broker for Life Insurance v vs. Buying Direct.
Helping you make sense of it all
Life Insurance is an important decision because you want to make sure that your loved ones are protected should something happen to you. It is also a somewhat complicated, even complex undertaking. Almost every day you hear on the radio or television ads touting buy Life Insurance direct and save tons of money. They proclaim that buying insurance directly from the company is going to be less expensive and easier, but is that true? Well in most cases this is incorrect, because life insurance companies will give a broker the same price that they give you and pay them commissions as a cost of doing business. The insurance company has to pay for the advertising to get you to the company, so the cost of getting a new client will be the same or higher. So the idea that getting life insurance online is cheaper, it’s basically an advertising technique that is designed to get you to contact the company and to make as much money off you as possible, with the least amount of effort.dd paragraph text here.
Now as a broker I can understand wanting to save money and not having to deal with a salesperson. Well as a broker I am a sales person, however I have the ability to work in your best interest instead of working in the interest of the company. Unlike a representative from an online site who answers your questions or a captive agent, I have the ability to shop multiple companies for the plan that best benefits you. As an example there is only one company that I’m aware of that offers a disability rider with a term life policy, and you won’t be able to buy it directly because of the ability to defraud the insurance companies. So I legally have to protect the insurance companies interest but I also legally have to work for your best interest, big difference. I have to protect them from fraud but I have to work as your agent. I know there is still going to be that doubting Thomas, that Uncle Luke that will never let those snake charmers get his money, but how many kids do you know who have paid to have their parents buried, I did.Add paragraph text here.
Finally there are also so many other things that life insurance has to offer you besides death benefits, read my article (http://www.awareinsurance.com/blog/got-life-insurance-eight-things-life-insurance-can-do-other-than). So if you would put down the “I bet you can’t help me protect my family” shield, I would love to show you how this is a real value for you. I do service work; I basically raise funds for an organization that I am associated with. I’ve believe in the mindset that the key to getting people to show up and part with their hard earned cash is to give them an outstanding deal for their effort. Something that makes you feel good about how you’ve helped (your family) and what you’ve spent. (the value that you get for your money) Also having another career helps, but still a broker by far is your best bet. If you feel that you have to prove me wrong, respond, I’m sure that there might be some thought or idea that might be out there that can add to the discussion. 8 Things That Life Insurance can do for you
8 Things Life Insurance can do other than Death Benefits
Living without insurance is a bit like driving blind. You never know what lies ahead. For one with dependents like a family or close relatives, taking life insurance is gives a certain measure of certainty that they will be well in case anything happens. Many people fail to realize the full extent of the benefits of taking term life insurance. Death benefits come to mind when there is a mention of life insurance, but there is more to it.
· Provide benefits when you get terminally ill
These benefits are known as living benefits. They can be claimed by the insured if he has 12 months or less to live, and can be received as a portion in advance. They come as standard for many term life insurance policies.
· A source of care if disabled
Many plans will have riders that the insured can receive benefits in the case of chronic or critical illness. This includes physical disability, heart attack, invasive cancer and stroke. This is crucial for people who find their medical bills mounting.
· Long term care
This can be included in the plan instead of buying two separate plans. This can be done as a rider on the life insurance plan at an extra cost which is not as expensive as taking a new plan.
· Offer child protection
A better way of protecting your loved ones with life insurance is asking for insurance on your child’s life to be included in your plan with a rider that will cost extra but not as much as a new plan on the child.
· Give to charity
Your small monthly premiums can be turned into one big charity donation on your death. This is better than bequeathing your savings directly to charity upon death. The savings can buy a plan that will leverage it into a big donation to your charity of choice.
· Minimize taxes in retirement
You can create a stream of tax free money using your life insurance protection. The policy can be your personal pension.
· Cover college costs
You can cover your child’s college costs by taking out loans guaranteed by a life insurance policy. This is a better way of getting cheaper loans than student loans. The added benefit is that the money paid back goes back to the insurance policy keeping your loved ones protected.
· Get back your money
You can claim your money at the end of an insurance term with a return of premium rider. While this will cost a bit more, it is a good way of saving and staying insured.

Types of Life Insurance and some of their attributes. First let's look at what types of Life Insurance is available. The main policies that are offered are Whole Life, Term Life, Universal, Indexed Universal Life and Return of Premium. The type of policy that is best or you will depend on your needs and budget, I will briefly go over some of the characteristics of ea. Whole Life: This is one of the first types of life insurance to be sold. It is a policy where you pay the insurance company a premium that will stay the same unless the face amount is changed. The insurance company will use a percentage of the premium to cover the liability of the policy, the rest they will place in guaranteed investments and a portion will be used for cash value that increases during the policy and is available for the policy holder for loans or a buyout of the policy. Term Life: A Term Life policy is a life insurance policy that last for a certain term, such as 5, 10,15 or high as 30 years. This is the lease expensive type of policy and is used by people who want to get inexpensive coverage while they need it most. The policy payment will stay the same throughout the term period, but increases dramatically after the term. In some cases the policy will expire after the term. Universal or Indexed Universal Life: This is also a policy that will last all or most of the insureds life. It is similar to Whole Life, except that the policy payments are more flexible, meaning that the payments are added to the policy and can be used to make premium payments and they are usually added to the face amount of the policy in the event that the policy has to be paid. The Indexed Universal policy is attached to a policy or stock index, usually with a guaranteed minimum and maximum interest payment. Return of Premium: The ROP policy is a form of term policy where the money that is paid into the policy is returned to the purchaser, usually in full, if the policy doesn't pay a death benefit. This policy will have a higher face amount for the same premium as a Whole Life or UIL, but a smaller face amount than a term policy. Summary: There are many different types of policies with many different companies. Being a life insurance broker that isn't a captive agent, I can give you options from many different companies, without any additional expense. Bill Ware www.awareinsurance.com

What is Vedic Meditation?
Vedic Meditation is so easy that anyone can learn. Especially if you have a busy mind and have failed at all other meditation practices. Although it originally came from India t is not a religion and requires no special beliefs or life style. Yoga is not required. At first it is practiced for 20 minutes in the morning and evening while sitting in a comfortable position with the eyes closed. As the mind calms down naturally and simply via a simple mantra given by your teacher the individual experiences increased happiness, creativity, memory, relationships, and health.
How does this technique work?
When Vedic Meditation is practiced the mind calms to its deepest point within and connects to BLISS.
Where did this technique come from?
This knowledge has been passed down from generation to generation by Vedic masters in India.

Meditation For a Good Night's Sleep
When was the last time you had a good night's sleep? And I mean good -- do you wake feeling-refreshed-and-fully-awake good? Or do you hit the snooze button and feel groggy from the moment you get up?
The latter used to be me. I would rarely get a full night's rest. At usually 3 or 4 in the morning my mind would switch on like a light bulb. I would be wide awake and my mind would start wandering and thinking about work -- my projects, my emails, the whole long list of things I had to do or just think about regarding work. It was my little analyst mind busy at work. It. Would. Not. Stop. No matter how hard I tried I could not get back to sleep.
Little did I know at the time that getting less than six hours a night, which was my norm, would eventually be the number one reason why I would end up collapsing one day. It was my final wake up call to do something about my exhaustion and sleep deprivation. I had more than enough on my plate at the time due to a crazy-busy career.
Studies suggest that less than six hours of sleep decreases brain function and our ability to learn.
Poor sleep can also result in obesity, cardiovascular problems, diabetes, low sex drive, anxiety and depression, impaired judgment and more. All pretty good reasons to want more of it.
The bottom line is getting good quality sleep and enough of it does the body good. As many of you already may know the goal is to get seven to nine hours each and every night. No skimping. For any athletes out there the amount of sleep you need may be even up to 10 hours or more.
The one thing that can help massively with little effort is something that Ellen Degeneres, Jerry Seinfeld and over 1,300 employees at BlackRock do. They all meditate. For some of you unfamiliar with this powerful technique it may seem too "out there" and the image that comes to mind is sitting in a cave all day chanting om. (For those of you practicing this by all means go for it if it works for you.)
Meditation takes on many, many forms. It can be deep breathing for a few minutes, singing or listening to soothing music. All in all it is a great tool to ease and calm the mind whatever form you choose to use. I can say personally that meditation was the most effective thing I did that finally got me a good night's sleep. I did not know much about it but I was willing to try anything that did not involve medication. After getting and listening to my first meditation CD I went straight to sleep and slept like a baby for the first time in two years. I felt like a new person when I woke up. I no longer felt groggy and I could focus and concentrate better at work.
Once I started I did not want to stop. I actually ended up looking forward to doing it every single day. It became my daily practice. I would just sit back and listen and most importantly relax.
My advice is start somewhere. It can be deep breathing for a few minutes or a full-fledged hour or two of a specific meditation practice. It can involve trying to control your thoughts or just letting them come and go. Do what you like and what works for you, but remember to get the most out of meditation you must do it consistently every day. It does not matter so much what time you do it as long as you do it.

What is Vedic Astrology?

If you’ve ever met an attractive stranger at a party and asked, “Hey baby, what’s your sign?” it probably didn’t go so well. Not only can such a cliche question get you an eye-rolling response, it won’t help you with what you’re hoping to know – if this person could be your “special someone” to spend the rest of your mortal days with.
Ah, if only it were that simple…
Here’s the thing: since the dawn of time, humankind has been looking to the stars to understand the course of human events. Virtually every great civilization has had its own system of astrology, including the Celts, Mayans, Egyptians, Greeks, Persians, Chinese, and Hebrews, to name just a few.
But I gotta tell ya – no one system of zodiacal analysis has figured out interpersonal relationships like the system of ancient India, also known as Vedic astrology.
Vedic astrology is first found written about in the Vedas, some of the spiritual scriptures of Hindu philosophy, believed by some scholars to be over 5,000 years old. Here’s the amazing part – traditionally, if you were a Hindu, you didn’t get married without the blessing of an astrologer. (This astrological “thumbs up/thumbs down” is still done for the majority of Hindu marriages in India to this day.)
The whole idea of marriage in traditional, Eastern cultures is nothing like in modern Western culture. You married once to a mate selected by your parents whom you didn’t so much as meet until your wedding ceremony (gulp). Divorce was non-existent (and is still extremely rare). And if a man died first, his wife would throw herself onto his funeral pyre, sacrificing herself. So, you didn’t want to just marry anyone. It was literally a matter of life and death to know if you were compatible, and if the “destiny” of your love and life together would go smoothly (and that they had good longevity, for reasons I think I’ve made clear…) Talk about pressure!
So astrologers, and Hindu society as a whole, have taken this whole topic extremely seriously, and have been highly motivated for thousands of years to know what they’re doing. Fortunately, they’ve figured a few things out.
Many tools and techniques are unique to Vedic astrology, and differ a great deal from the more commonly known system practiced in the West, called Tropical or Western astrology. The two biggest differences are that the Vedic system uses a different zodiac called the Sidereal zodiac (meaning “of the stars”), causing the calculations from one system to the next to be around 24 degrees off (making most people a different Sun sign, Moon sign, and Rising sign than in the Western system), and focusing on the Moon, not the Sun. (Good luck asking that hot stranger, “Hey baby, what’s your Moon sign?”)
You see, your Sun sign, though an important indicator of your talents, interests, career, and behavior, is not so much reflective of your emotional personality or psychology, or how you’ll relate to others. All of that is indicated by your Moon sign, and not just the 12 Greek signs of the zodiac (which at some point were incorporated into Vedic astrology, because they work) but the traditional 27 smaller constellations the Moon travels through in the course of a month, referred to as nakshatras, or “lunar mansions.”
There are many ways to understand each of these more specific Moon signs. They each have an animal symbol, a nature, an element, a gender, a caste, a temperament, an action, etc. It is by comparing these powerful, distinct aspects of two people’s Moon nakshatras that you can know all about how you’ll feel together (if you can feel understood, loved, appreciated, comforted, or not…), and if your life together will unfold with ease, or constant challenges. It’s truly amazing.
Vedic astrology is often called “predictive” astrology, as well, because your chart is believed to be more a map of your destiny (what will happen) than of your potential (what you could choose to make happen with your free will). Thus, it’s full of amazing predictive techniques, the most compelling being that of looking to planetary periods – cycles of influence which last from six to twenty years and cover your life span, revealing what you can expect to go through and when. These periods, known as dasas, are literally like having a “train schedule” for your life, explaining periods of success or failure in all aspects such as career, health, finances, and of course – romance.
So, you see, love really is in your stars. And it’s vast and complicated, just like relationships are. So the next time you see an attractive stranger you’re hoping could be your “special someone,” do yourself a favor – walk over and pay them a sincere compliment. I promise you, you won’t get that eye-rolling response, and you just might find that romantic destiny you’re hoping for.
