I hope everyone has had a great June. Personally, time has kinda gotten away from me this month. But in between falling head first into another fandoms fics and going to London to see Harry, I did manage to read some 1d fics here and there. Happy reading everyone!

In the middle of a tough shift at the hospital, Harry storms outside to take a break. He's expecting to get a few minutes to himself to recharge.
He gets more than he expected when he catches sight of Louis.
This was fun! I'm glad Louis was there to provide Harry a nice view.

“No offense Li, but I photograph athletes. Not entitled pop stars that think they can buy their way into every room.”
He’d been trying to keep the disdain out of his voice, but he’s pretty sure he failed, if the look on Liam’s face is anything to go by.
Liam raises a challenging brow. “Well that’s perfect, because Harry Styles just ran a sub-three marathon last spring in Berlin.”
Louis knows the surprise is probably clear on his face. “Really?”
(Or the one where Louis Tomlinson is a popular photographer for Runner’s World magazine. He’s less than thrilled when he gets assigned to shoot a cover piece with international pop star turned marathoner: Harry Styles. It turns out to go better than he’d expected).
Ooooh, Harry really came with a plan in mind didn't he. I'm glad he got his way!

"Do you mind?"
"Oh, sorry." Harry responds instinctively, before he even knows what it is that he is apologising for. "I'm a slightly nervous flyer."
Louis' brow raises questioningly. "You're a wedding photographer that's willing to travel halfway across the world for the job, but you hate flying?"
"I said I'm a nervous flyer. Not that I hate flying." He pauses for a moment before adding. "Besides, some of the most beautiful weddings I've been to have required me to fly to them."
Louis rolls his eyes. "Right, because weddings within driving distance would be too practical."
"It's not about the practicality, it's about capturing the loveliest, most important moments of two people's lives," Harry says, his lips turned down in a small pout. "And if I'm the person a couple is trusting to do that, I'd gladly get on a plane. Even if I am a little nervous during takeoff and landing."
Louis bristles slightly. loveliest, most important moments of two people's lives. Right.
Or the one where irritated-with-life Louis almost misses his flight from LAX to Heathrow and gets stuck sitting next to happy, love-loving Harry
Ah, this was cute! Of course Louis' grumpyness couldn't hold up with meeting Harry. Even if he'd like to think otherwise, he's too much of a softie for that. Just look at him giving Harry his sweater to help him, while still keeping up his annoyed demeanor!

When Louis Tomlinson's Secret Santa starts leaving him puzzle pieces and raunchy Christmas-themed pick-up lines, he's determined to figure out who in the office has a crush on him. Surely it wouldn't be any of his friends, even if he might want it to be.
This was so fun and cute! Look at them pining for each other, failing at being subtle. Good on harry for finally making a move, raunchy pickup lines and all!

Louis snorted. "Cheers, love. Wanna know more or are you done with dad bullshit for tonight?"
Harry pouted. "There's more? Jesus, I feel like you need a joint or something."
"Wouldn't say no honestly," Louis sighed. "But yeah. The baker cancelled the cake order last minute," his voice may have wavered a little at that. He wasn't going to cry. Louis was not the kind of pathetic sod that cried to bartenders.
"Oh God," Harry gasped, pure horror in his eyes. "I'm so sorry, Louis, fuck. Being a single parent sounds so much, I have newfound respect for my mother."
Louis froze at that. Single parent? He laughed internally as he realized that it was a perfectly valid assumption to make when Louis was clearly the one dealing with all the fires.
"Shit, sorry. Was that insensitive? I tend to put my foot in my mouth a lot. I meant it as a compliment, I swear. You're doing so well. Much better than I would be, for sure!"
"I'm married," Louis said quietly. "To my daughter's mum. I- I'm not a single parent," he explained, his voice sounding faraway even to himself.
Oh I loved this, when I first started reading I didn't wanna put it down! They're so compatible, and I love that Louis now has a partner that supports him. And I love how they both give the other room to figure themself out, while being supportive!

A little over a week later, Louis was on his laptop paying a few invoices when he came across an email in the shop’s inbox.
Good afternoon,
I don’t know if you remember me, but I was in your shop a week ago to purchase some pastels. We talked about cherry blossoms and you suggested I go to the Parc De Sceaux. It was just as beautiful as you said it would be. While I was painting, I was thinking about your shop. I don’t mean to be untoward, but are you looking for any summer help? I finish my exams in a couple of weeks and it would interest me greatly to assist and learn your craft.
Thank you for your consideration.
Best,
Harry Styles
Or the summer before his last year of art school, Harry secures a job working for Louis, a reclusive pastel maker. He doesn't expect that his planned summer of Parisian debauchery will blossom into something much more.
Gah, this was gorgeous! I loved following their journey of self-discovery and growth. Them falling all over each other and becoming the each other's person was inevitable, but the journey of getting there was so fun to read!
"Detroit, how are we getting on then? You know, when you do so many shows, it’s hard to really call when you’re gonna have a good one, but I've had a really fucking good gig tonight, I’ve enjoyed it. Thank you, that’s all thanks to you guys! I know it’s hot, I know it’s hot, but we’ve got how many? One, two. We’ve got three songs left. Let’s bring the fucking roof down. This is Miss You." - 18.07
"[...] Do you know what? I’ve got an annoying request. I’ve done this before and you get a few eye rolls. Put the phones away, just for this song, what about that? Come on. Let’s live in the moment. I sound like a grandad but here’s Jump The Gun!” - 18.07
Okay so to recap: (this is long, I’m a Yapper like Louis lol)
-we bought these early access passes that I thought meant we would get in early? But instead they just kind of put us in a different line? It was kind of a bummer.
-the venue was stunning but sweet baby Jesus H. Christ was it HOT. Multiple people carried out by EMS. The venue did a couple of things to combat the heat like big fans and ice cold water but I’m telling you. It. Was. Sweltering. Pretty sure it was like 35° C+ in there. Insane.
-Picture Parlour was GREAT. Their lead singer has a really cool vibe and they did a great job!
Also The Beaches were SO SO GOOD. And people were JAZZED to see them. People knew all their songs and they did an incredible job in my opinion. About his two openers Ash and I kept joking that “Louis really knows his audience” because everyone had a fantastic time with both opening acts!
-The confetti during Lemonade is an *experience*! Everyone was so excited and dancing around in it. The whole audience had a blast with that part!
-Speaking of Louis’ audience- everyone was SO kind. I had my kiddo with me and people kept giving them high fives and making sure they were okay with the heat and the noise and stuff. One person (very generously) offered to record us while we were singing and dancing. When we were waiting in the line outside people talked to them about their favorite Louis/1D songs and just in general were truly amazing to my child. Which of course made me crazy happy. I love love love our fandom.
-The second Night Changes started playing the place EXPLODED (and we were already hella loud). It was the loudest singing I heard all night. You can take the man out of One Direction, but you cannot take the One Direction out of him. And all of us. 🥰
-The fan projects were SO cool!!! The Dark To Light project went so so well, the Kill My Mind lights looked amazing, and a couple of people were handing out pictures of Louis from all his eras? Super cool. I have three, they gave my kiddo two! (My child is a charmer lol)
-Meeting @cuethetommo was a huge highlight! Always wild to meet people you’ve known for ages online IRL.
-The projector broke during Sunflowers? And then it kept switching off entirely. I don’t think Louis noticed lol but we all kind of chuckled when it happened (a big computer error message came on) Eventually I think they pretty much gave up and stopped using it.
-I know I mentioned how hot it was but I cannot stress it enough. Louis himself commented on it several times, kept fanning himself with his shirt, drank a crap ton of water, etc. I don’t think he was as chatty as he has been at some other shows? Which I’m not upset about, I don’t blame him for it at all. I can’t IMAGINE how much hotter it was under the stage lights. He was still so happy and all smiles and kept pointing at fans/signs and of course gave his lovely speech about how much he cares about all of us and what an impact we’ve had on him and his career. I’ve seen it online, of course, but it HITS in person.
-Speaking of hitting in person, all of these songs go SO hard live. When I had to step out for a second during Face The Music (it was that or pass out lol) the windows in the venue were rattling. There was just so much energy! And of course some moments that made me cry. Obviously Dark to Light. But also Night Changes was weirdly emotional for me too? And I didn’t even realize I was crying as hard as I was during Lucid until @intentionalarry asked me if I was okay. It was just a full circle moment.
-All in all, one of the best nights of my life, hands down, and post concert come down and depression is REAL.
Setlist with 24 songs, Send Me Under at the encore
"[...] It's fucking hot in here! God knows how yous are feeling over there. I’ll do the Dad thing and make sure you drink enough water tonight, guys, you know. Yeah? You lads in agreement, yeah? Thank you, nice one."
