you live but you’re weird now: there was some kind of thing on that island. you never saw it and you never heard it, but somehow you could feel it watching you, and you liked it, didn’t you? you liked the feeling of some vast inhuman voyeur watching you alone and vulnerable? how close did you get to the forest? it’s hard to remember. you might have been hallucinating but the trees had seemed as if they were reaching for you, straining against their own stillness. you’ve been rescued, they tell you, like they’re reassuring you, but the way they look at your eyes and hands like you’re a wild animal makes you feel more like they’re reassuring themselves 

you live: this was not a fun time for you but you doubt that anyone could really have fun stranded on an island like that! you did the best you could and even started a fire and cooked fish and stuff. it’s going to take some heavy duty therapy but you’re slowly returning to your life. good job!
