Ivan wasn't meaning to be creepy. But be that as it may, he had been casually following the infamous Allen Jones for an hour or so now. He had started in the bakery, watching him interact with customers kinda flirtily and now he did his best to inconspicuously follow him around campus. He wasn't doing it for the fun of it, but he had heard so many rumours he needed to sort out the truth from the lie himself.
Allen sighed to himself. Today wasnât his day. It all started when his hairband broke while he was trying to put his hair into a ponytail. He didnât have another one to replace it, because for some strange reason he thought heâd only need one in his life! Now his hair was hanging down to his neck and getting in his way. He had been mistaken for a girl from behind so many times today that it stopped being funny.Â
Then when he got to work someone had burnt a pastry. He yelled at them for it and made them redo it until they got it right, which was about their fifth time making it. By that time the customer was fed up and left without paying. Not even Allenâs flirting could make them stay. It was a big headache.
Not to mention he had to put his hair into a hairnet to keep it out of his food. He looked stupid and he was sure his coworkers were laughing at him.
And now on his way home the freezing wind was blowing his hair into his face, making it go into his mouth and up his nose, but that wasnât the worst part. The worst part was he felt like he was being watched.
He looked over his shoulder and jumped when he saw a tall student looking right at him. How long had they been there? What did they want? Was it a stalker? Today was not his day.Â
He looked down at Ivanâs hand before looking back up at him. Could he trust him? He still seemed shady to him. With a reluctant sigh he took the hand and shook it, âAllen Jones,â he said, âbut I guess you already knew that, huh?âÂ
He pulled his hand back and stuffed it inside the pocket of his hoodie, where the other one was, âso, how long have you been following me?â
Ivan nodded and shrugged at the others remark about knowing already. Allens reluctance, didnât go unnoticed. It was understandable, yet Ivan still made note of it.Â
He thought for a momment before answering, his eyes drifting skyward. âAbout Hour and bit?â He questioned himself before nodding and confirming; looking directly as Allen, âHour and bit. So not too much of long timeâÂ
âSeems like a long time to me,â he muttered, still sour over people thinking he was scary. âSo, have you collected enough evidence, Mr, Detective, or do you need more?â He forced himself to smirk, âif you want more, youâll have to take me out on a date though,â he joked.
Hey, just because he was in a bad mood didnât mean he still couldnât flirt.
He thought for a moment, going through what he had observed first hand. He seemed passionate about his work and easily irritated, although nice to customers. Easily startled and unsure about knew people.
âYou are not seeming like bad guy, but it could easily be act. I have an not having enough of the data.â He finally responded, before adding with a small head tilt, â I am have never been talking someone on date before. But I am knowing a good Italian place not far from here, it is cheap also.â
He rolled his eyes. He wasnât in the mood for this. He just wanted to go home and sleep, but the world seemed to have other plans, âok, one,â he said as he held up a finger, âdonât tell your date that youâre bringing them to a cheap place. It not only makes you seem cheap, but also that you donât care about them. Two, I donât care if you think Iâm acting. You obviously just want to judge me instead of actually getting to know me.â
âAnd three,â he raised up a third finger, âyouâre picking me up at seven. Youâre paying, and Iâm ordering whatever I want. Itâs been awhile since Iâve went on a date, and youâre obviously going to keep stalking me until you actually get your facts. Besides, free food is awesome for college students.â
With saying his peace, he turned around and continued his walk back to his dorm.
