My girlfriend once gave me a Valentine made of soft leather. What a suede heart.
I’m a “rich kid” who grew up all around other “rich kids” my whole life.
With MY sample size after going to college and meeting “struggling” kids, in MY perspective, it’s usually the poorer kids who don’t have a grasp on how things work and are much more likely to subscribe to a socialist / let government take care of you, type of attitude.
this opened my eyes
the levels to the idiocy
ok who is Michelle Rodriguez though
she made a video explaining it because she felt like the words were twisted.
she meant that she wanted hollywood to stop being lazy and just develop mythology for superheroes of color where their cultures would be embedded into their story. like, rather than just take peter parkers story and put a poc in there, she just wants people to develop their own mythology where they put a cultural story behind that if their heritage isn’t rooted to america
it’s on her facebook. cant link it, my mouse is broken
video
This isn’t stupid at all. This is so important
We need more heroes like Static Shock, where their culture is a part of the suit.
The fact that they twisted her words so much like that holyshit—
I thought it sounded twisted from the article title. I totally side with the message described later in this post. It’s like, why make POC superheroes out of already existing white ones, when you can make awesome new hero characters with exciting and experimental new stories behind them. Character writing 101, Anyone can make a remake, but what’s truly memorable is the new and different.
i literally would rather die than live to see this happen
i love this the comments are like a bunch of women going “ughhh please no, we have had enough of joss whedon’s feminism, didn’t age of ultron kinda prove this” and there’s this one dude constantly replying “…you didn’t see Firefly, did you?” or “…you’ve never seen Buffy, have you?” my guy i have seen both and let me tell you: it is not good news
ugh nooooooo
did we learn N O T H I N G from Ultron or
It’s just like hey, notice how there WEREN’T 100000000000 think pieces about the female characters in Civil War? That’s a good.
what if
and hear me out now
they got a woman
to direct a movie built around women???
What are your opinions on this? @professorthorgi
I would far rather have a woman direct a movie about an all women team, seems like that one is kind of common sense, but at the same time I do think people blame Whedon for lots of stuff he was forced to do by the higher ups. I mean he did say that they tried to get him to kill Scarlet Witch instead of Quicksilver (spoilers) at the end of the movie and he said he’d leave the movie if they made him kill the only other woman on the cast. Granted that could all be made up, we don’t know, but considering that the guy who was in charge of approving everything for the Marvel films was recently relieved of that duty and instantly stories started coming out about him making other sexist decisions, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was true.
But I’m not saying I’m all in team Whedon or team Hate Whedon because I’ve never met the man and don’t know him well enough to form an opinion. And yes I’ve read things by him and heard speeches from him that seemed fine but then again I’m not a woman so I really shouldn’t be standing here saying “Yes that guy understands feminism.” The right thing for me to do is to simply listen to women and how they feel about him. So I guess my opinion on this is simply to ask more women to share their opinion and I’ll listen to them the best I can.
(Although if they do make an all women Avengers movie and they don’t include Spectrum then I will be super pissed)
what are these “shower thoughts” everybody’s talking about, i dont think about anything in the shower, my mind is completely blank as i douse my body in scalding hot water and stare at a wall

There’s a proper time to die, isn’t there? And one should embrace it when it comes. Of course one should but not at John’s wedding! We wouldn’t do that, would we, you and me? We would never do that to John Watson.
rockin’ it twig
the fact that in s1 john tells sherlock “answer your phone I’ve been calling you” and sherlock hasn’t been picking up and then in s3 sherlock calls him still recovering from a bullet in his heart and mrs h says “that’s your phone it’s sherlock john you’ve got to answer it.“ this in light of phone-heart metaphor.
