Though I loved Toph's reappearance in the show (writing this after watching The Coronation), I couldn't help but hope that she'll come to realize she's not really all that connected. She sees everything? Great! But who's seeing her? Being connected (to me at least) is a two way thing. Send and receive. Speak and listen. That's not what's happening here.

It's a shame to see that after all these years Toph still insists on carrying her own weight so to speak. She makes sure she sees everything and appears to be indifferent as to whether people need to see her. At the same time (I'm hoping this is the case) it could be that she's simply waiting for the right time to 'strike', or in this case, re-appear. 

Needless to say, I'm really looking forward to the upcoming episodes *-*

Filmmakers take note- This five second scene not only fully describes a characters backstory, but the entire reason he acts the way he acts through the film, taking him from a villain to a sympathetic character and justifying a total reversal of his actions in the present. In five seconds, this movie does for the development of a character more than most movies do in two hours. This is why you should be studying Disney and Pixar along with Martin Scorsese and Stanley Kubrick, and ignoring professors and elitist students who deride them as “kids stuff.”

What a cool post! Once again, the hardest working fans in the business. Also, as illustrated by these graphics, if you hear a voice on ATLA/LOK there is a strong chance it was performed by Grey DeLisle. Although Dee Bradley Baker might have more screen time due to all the animal chirps and grumbles. Either way, Grey and Dee could easily voice an entire series together—just the two of them covering all the characters—and the audience would be none the wiser without checking the credits.

I’m rewatching Avatar: the Last Airbender from the beginning

And one of the links I’m using is from Nick.com, where they put in fun facts about the characters and the voice actors and stuff into the episode I’m watching “The Warriors of Kyoshi,” and there’s this scene where Zuko goes, “nice try, Avatar, but these little girls can’t save you!” And this is the fun fact the writers put in:

This is something that slips past the Western viewers- it looks like it’s reaching out for Chihiro, in a malicious way, to the Western viewers. It’s what I thought growing up.

However, now, that I know that it’s a way of signalling for someone to ‘Come here!’ in Japan, the scene takes on a whole new meaning.

That spirit knows that if Chihiro doesn’t eat the food, she will disappear. And it knows if it offers the food, she cannot be cursed as a gluttonous pig because it wouldn’t have been stolen.

Just a unique take when you have all of the context.
