Many lessons come when we would prefer them not to. Many lessons come that we would prefer never to deal with at all. But c'est la vie! That is life and forward we must go! On this #SpiritualFriday, I am thankful for the lessons I learned at camping this year, preparing me for the new journey I have chosen to take. I am grateful for my spiritual family members, each of whom help me learn - who push me to learn. I am grateful for my teacher, @guruenlightment, who never fails to kick me in the ass and push me to that next level. I am grateful for the water, the trees, and the mountains, who stand so consistent when I contemplate internal change. But mostly - MOSTLY - I am thankful to myself for laughing and dancing and being silly throughout my wild journey on this planet. Needless to say, camping was amazing this year. See you next time, Sebago! When I return, you will see a changed girl ❤️ #spiritualcamping2016

Yesterday during my lazy Sunday, I watched Valley Of The Dolls, a drama from the late '60s. It's been razzed as being a horrible movie and adaptation, but I for one loved the messages - know thyself; don't let ego and pride get in the way; and, of course, don't take pills (lol). I can easily glamorize those who have made it big, but the time between now and some recognition is time for me to get to know who and what I am. Also, Patty Duke is awesome. Happy Monday, people! Sometime, I need to stop and see how far I've come. I spend (waste) a lot of time waiting for validation from other people, as if an outside opinion is the only yardstick by which I can measure my own progress; but everyone has themselves to take care of, and it's no one else's job to take care of me. So tonight I stopped, looked up, saw beauty, and realized that I was responsible for it. No, I did not spin these fairytale clouds myself, but I got myself here to see them.
