If y’alls didn’t know the Fosters killed off a character tonight who happened to be a boy who kissed another boy this episode. I know what you are probably thinking, “The fosters, isn’t that the show with the lesbian moms.” Yes it is and while it started out as a show with great representation with the moms relationship being the center of the show, it has strayed far from them and has focused more on the kids. While in the episode the character who died, Jack, said that he didn’t identify as gay, he did kiss a character who identifies as gay. Also they didn’t really give Jack any time to explore his sexuality more and maybe end up be bi or pan. The character, Jude, was recently getting over a breakup with his boyfriend (who was written off the show by basically invalidating the two boys whole relationship) and Jack kissed Jude to try and get him to feel better. Well it worked and Jude said that he was ready to move on and was happy for one of the few times this season. But unfortunately now one of his only friends is dead, and is happiness will probably be stripped away from him. Oh and in the promo he said he doesn’t think he’s into guys anymore. This is a character that had a relationship with another boy and said he loved him, but now he doesn’t like guys anymore. They are quickly destroying the integrity of this whole character. And the show also played into the evil home wrecking bisexual trope which know we all love. I guess all I’m saying is #lgbtfansdeservebetter

Well, it sucks huge donkey balls that this is having to be written the way it is. I’m not gonna bullshit anything. I’d rather be writing this in light of a successful show ending on a high a note. However, here we are, the product of bad writing, a terrible stage mother, and producers who apparently don’t have control of their own set. But I digress in this arena….

A little over a year ago I was traveling for work when I saw a headlong come across my Facebook feed. It read, “Youngest Sam-Sex Kiss Happens on Television. It was shared by an Evangelical Christian friend of mine who was “disgusted and losing hope for America”. Of course I wanted to see what it was all about. J ended up being introduced to Jonnor through this post.

That night I went and found JonnorNomad on YouTube and watched the storyline up to that point…from the beginning. I was hooked. The impact it made on me in about hour was super deep. I actually ended up calling a good friend and coming out and talking about the show and the storyline and how it gave me hope. It gave me strength. It made me brave. I actually felt safe to be me for once.

It takes a huge set of balls to take on a role of that magnitude….for ANYONE. Give that kind of role to a kid and add about ten million pounds to said huge set of balls. @thegavinmacintosh thank you for your willingness. So many people praised you and your portrayal as Connor as something for young people to cling to, to find faith in, to look to for support. It went far beyond that age bracket though. As one that tried to come out as a teenager and was forced back into the closet by fear, your bravery and willingness unlocked that bravery and willingness I had. It’s helped me become me.

And I think, when you get to the root of everything everybody is going to say, that’s the binding statement: “You and your character allowed me to be me.” I hope you realize that that is the reflection of you as a person, as an actor, and as an activist.

To G’s parents: Incredible job. Simply incredible. Write a book. Do a blog/vlog. Do SOMETHING to help replicate and teach the parenting methods you have. You’ve done a hell of a job.

It would be lacking if I didn’t thank the writers, producers, and others who went into the creation of Connor. You offered the world a powerful role and it was filled by a powerful dude.

We still expect the thirst. We still expect the randomness. I actually think Griffin the cat needs more stage time. But G, you got people who stand by you man. I hope you feel the love today in Hermosa Beach.

So since the Fosters is going downhill... may I suggest a gay sitcom to lighten up the mood?

The main character is played by an actual gay person, not just a straight person playing a gay character.

No shade on the Fosters though… Sherri Saum and Teri Polo are amazing actors who portray their characters very well and who have great chemistry together.

and Gavin Macintosh did an amazing job as well! 

But anyway, I just watched the first episode of this show and gotta say… pretty funny… and Noah is great. He reminds me a little of that vine guy Zachary Piona

We won’t forget.  Jonnor was groundbreaking. From the Nail Polish, Pinkies, The Kiss, to becoming boyfriends all of these moments are iconic and you helped bring them to life. This is part of your impact and nobody can take that away from you.  You have made a difference in so many lives just for being willing to play this character, but you weren’t just willing you were excited to do it.  You embraced the character, the relationship and the fans.  We also won’t forget how you have impacted the lgbt community offscreen.  Getting involved with charities and promoting love and fighting for what is right through social media. This is your legacy, Gavin, and I am so proud of you.  

A talent like yours won’t go long without being recognized, but your kind heart will stand out even more.  Your past is already impressive and your future is bright. I can’t wait to see what’s next for you and I will be here supporting you every step of the way.

honestly i dont mind jude being bisexual, im bisexual myself, but what im really pissed about is how the writers are handling this.

* 2 seasons of build up for jonnor* *gets jealous when connor dates daria* *kisses connor in tent* * holds connor’s hand in movie theater* *gets jealous when connor wants to hang out with daria instead of you* * kisses connor again in your bedroom* *makesout with connor SHIRTLESS at connor’s house* *literally says “im super gay for you” to connor at the LGBT prom* *tells connor he LOVES him at Callie!/ adoption* *cries because of him and connor’s breakup* * FALLS. IN. LOVE. WITH. CONNOR. WHO. IS. A. BOY.“ and literally rejects taylor because he has feelings for connor

but then they have jude say he doesnt think hes into boys? Im pissed that they really made him say this. How disrespectful can they be to jonnor, connor, and the LGBT community? Jonnor helped so many young members in the lgbt and was such a very important aspect of the show. They were the other half of lgbt representation next to stef and lena. honestly the writers are ruining the show and im not here for this. They should’ve had jude say “i think i might be into boys and girls” , but by having him say “i dont think im into guys” is giving the implication that theyre going to make jude “straight” and have him question his relationship with connor in its entirety as if it wasnt real, and im not here for it, The writers have gotten disrespectful. Not only to Gavin with his crude send off, but to connor/jonnor, the fans for not giving us closure, and lastly to the lgbt representation. Honestly im so tired of how gay ships are being treated. Im done with this and probably the show. If they wanna introduce bisexuality that would be great, but do it correctly.
