Steve walked into the gym. As much as he loved what the super soldier serum had done for him, he knew he had to keep himself as sharp as he possibly could at all times. And at times like these, when he didn’t know if he would see anyone he knew again, he needed to work out his anger. Having stumbled across this gym earlier, the 95-year-old found the perfect outlet for his rage and frustration at being stuck in this world.
Dropping his duffel bag as he entered, the blonde man immediately recognized the woman who was training. Captain Marvel. At least that meant she was still alive. “Hi Carol.” He offered with a smile as he walked towards her, starting to wrap his hands up before he could start hitting the heavy bag that was hanging beside him. “It’s good to see a familiar face here. How are you taking the adjustment?”
Carol was somewhat relieved when she realised her companion was Steve, a person she considered to be good company. He wouldn’t push her buttons, nor would he give her any additional reason to be pissed off. She was already sufficiently annoyed and on edge.
“Steve,” she spoke before clearing her throat slightly. She hadn’t talked to anyone in hours and her voice was growing hoarse. Carol remained silent for a moment as an almost pained smile made its way across her features. “The adjustment. That’s one way to describe it. I don’t know,” she admitted, her voice followed by a sigh. She would be back to her normal self soon enough, she always bounced back, but for now she allowed herself to be vexed. “I’m desperate to punch something. Anything.” She glanced at the floor briefly. “How are you?”
