Oh how I miss you, grandma. I miss your smile and gental voice. I miss your warm hugs and your laugh. I miss your kisses and your blessings. We saw each other almost every day and now I only see you in my dreams, waking up crying from how much my heart hurts. I miss hearing you say "I love you". I miss you holding me by my arm so you could keep your balance. You became so fragile and weak and you were always in so much pain and not just physical. I remember walking into your room crying with your radio on full volume. You would look at me with tears in your eyes and tell me how you missed my grandpa. Now I shed those same tears for you. I tattooed your face on my arm as a tribute but it serves as a constant reminder that you're not here. Are you proud of me? Have I become someone you still love? I wish i wouldve brought you flowers when you were here so I could see you enjoy them. Now theyre left in front of a tombstone to be admired by others who've lost their loved ones too. I promised you I would work to get us a house so we could both live in peace. I promised to work and get a car so I could take you to your senior center. Now every milestone I reach feels so empty because I cant show you what ive done. I can't hear you tell me if your proud of me. I miss you so fucking much... please help me grow strong. Please continue to guide me. Please watch over me, because when im at my weakest I miss you most and when im at my best I miss you even more. No matter how hard I cry or beg, nothing will bring you back and as time moves foward, I only learn how to carry the pain until I break, then put it back on my shoulders and continue to move foward. Te quiero Lela y te extraño. Today marks the second year since youve left us, and we all miss you and my grandfather. Thank you for all you taught us and the love you gave me. My only comfort is knowing youre at peace watching the family grow as we come together in your remembrance.
