So, a few people asked about how I crashed the GUP-AX1…
I was in New Zealand at the time. I was studying marine life around Pania reef. I had left the GUP-AX1 in shallower water while I explored the ecosystems, and I got so caught up in my research that I didn’t notice a storm approaching. By the time I had noticed a change in the weather, the GUP-AX1 was already drifting out toward Cale Kidnappers (which is home to more Gannets than I’ve ever seen before in my life!!!).
Anyway, I started frantically swimming after it, but I was being tossed around by choppy waters. I only Caught up to the GUP just as It was heading straight for the ‘point’ (A big, pointy rock that sticks out of the water). I managed to climb inside the GUP, and tried to steer it away, but the currents were too strong and It ended up crashing into the Point. The bottom of the GUP got all shredded up from the rocks, and the propellers got dented into the main body of the GUP and wouldn’t work. I ended up stranded at Cape Kidnappers for at least a week, but I managed to tie the GUP-AX1 down so that it wouldn’t drift away.
Nix: "You... You didn't get seriously hurt, did you...?"
Not from the crash itself. actually I think the worst injury I got from that Whole experiance was when I ended up spraining my wrist while trying to secure everything...I tripped and landed weirdly on a rock.
But It's okay now!
