There is definitely a phenomena where people try SO hard to avoid anthropomorphism they end up looping around into this quasi-religious stance that humans have some essential non-biological quality that sets us apart from other animals. Like being so cautious about how you describe emotion experienced by a nonhuman animal that you go "that animal is not 'happy' it's just demonstrating a response to positive stimuli and receiving chemical reward signals" as if that's not also what human emotion is at the fundamental level.
Sharing this again because I have something incredibly important to say. Full anthropomorphisation is counterproductive because it demands that non-humans experience, behave and express exactly like humans, or they will be disregarded as inferior or stupid. I can demonstrate why this is unethical with a parallel: if neurotypicals only expect neurotypical behaviour from neurodivergent people, they are biased and they will call them stupid or flawed, which they aren't.
But completely forbidding anthropomorphisation is ALSO false and counterproductive because ALL of human experiences are ANIMAL EXPERIENCES. We are not different from other animals in any way that matters. We cook and make digital devices, ooooh how novel. Everything we experience is down to neurochemistry, and even animals who do not have a centralised nervous system have a function that achieves the exact same thing. This exists in plants, fungi, bacteria. The ability to sense the world, analyse data and make choices (intelligence), and experience some form of emotions is UNIVERSAL.
Something that I see being repeated by people who want to deny personality, autonomy and intelligence of plants is "no, plants don't experience pain like animals", and all i can say is "BITCH WHO IMPLIED THAT." No, plants don't experience pain like animals... they experience pain like PLANTS. Just because it's different does not mean it is wrong, inferior or non-existent. Do you know who else has been ignored, patronised, abused, experimented on and is still being affected by this same rhetoric? Women. Black women especially. Disabled people also.
They rejected their agency, they claimed they don't experience pain like white people or men or the abled do, they called them dramatic or too sensitive, they still deny women anaesthetics during vaginal procedures, black women have little to no representation in medicine even though they've been troopers and contributors to medicine, the basic template in medicine is male-oriented, etc. This is by design. Just like how it is by design that we deny agency and intelligence of non-humans so that we can exploit them, destroy them, and that capitalism can reign. This is the point. And this is why non-human rights are your rights. Fascists NEVER stop at the "other".

hm... you really don't have to identify as a woman while taking estrogen. I am non-binary, I am not a man or a woman, but I'd like some more testosterone. Leave him be. Women can use he/him, too. Maybe he finds out he's a woman later, it's not up to me and it's not up to any of us to be questioning that.
