she needed a break from staring at the four walls of her bedroom. a late night walk was the best way to a, avoid people and b, to clear her head. fingers running through her head as she found a park bench to sit on. this was not how she expected her pregnancy to get announced, she hadn’t even told her family yet. yes, that was partly her fault for delaying everything and burying herself and this..problem. this just proved to her that no matter what, life likes to shit on you. “if you’ve come to gloat, make fun of me or whatever, i’m really not in the mood.”

            THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME NOW THAT WHOEVER the enmity is outed someone’s secret -- this time it happened to be someone much closer to axel then josh and soo-min happened to be.  he spent the day debating whether to go check up on her or to give her space.  it had to be overwhelming either way.  but maybe it was fate that he stumbled upon her while skateboarding through the park -- it wasn’t hard to recognize the familiar figure.  “ i - i wasn’t going to make fun of you.  i was just wondering why you kept it a secret, well at least from me.  i wouldn’t have told anyone. ”

          A SIGH LEFT HIM AT THE MENTION OF A LONG WAIT -- if axel lacked one thing, it would be patience.  “ what is even taking so long? “ he grumbled to the other.

he’s been busy enough the last week that he’s not had time to do anything else. so everything aside, he decides that he’s going to have himself some downtime. because his mother and his sister are off out of town and he’s by himself, which of course he hates. he gets stuck though trying to make his way to the bar, and his voice is rough and scratchy from not using it and it sounds deeper than what it normally would when he speaks. “ ‘excuse me can i get past you please. “ the please is almost sour on his tongue but he doesn’t want to be too rude and he’s desperate for a drink.

          IT WAS EASY FOR AXEL TO FORGET ABOUT the people around him -- he never really meant to.  but sometimes his brain just focussed in on the small group of people he was with.  a small voice distracted him from this, spinning around to look at the other, “ sorry, what did you say? “ he questioned, his brain not at all processing what the other asked of him.

Axel was the kind of person who seemed like he had an idea of what her family was like, which meant one of two things; she could trick him by playing pretty, pretty duchess, or she could trick him by playing with magic, letting him watch the angel turn into the devil. The latter sounded like more fun. It was always more fun, especially to see the looks on their faces. Besides, he was a sweet boy. What harm could he do? “Yeah, I’ve hosted a ton of parties back in Spain,” and not just the cocktail dress, clinking champagne glasses type of parties, but those were the ones thrown under her daddy’s nose, “If it’s a club you want to get in to, maybe I could be of service? I don’t think a bouncer could say no to the new nobility in town.” She flashed a sweet smile.

          THERE WASN’T A LOT THAT LEYLA REALLY shared with him, a part of him frustrating, the other part of him didn’t really care.  it must’ve been weird moving to a new country, having to leave your whole world behind.  axel never had to deal with that, “ like the fancy ballgown ones?  did you live in a big castle too? “ he laughed at the thought a bit, he’s never really been into that sort of thing -- but no one could admit that the thought wasn’t pretty cool.  “ princess going bad? “ he teased, “ they aren’t usually too hard to get into, but it could be fun to see you give it a shot? “

“You tell anyone I stole this from my Dad’s stash and I’ll kill you myself, got it?” He asked in a slightly serious tone as he pulled a tall bottle of vodka from out of his backpack. “I could’ve just bought my own but something about drinking alcohol that doesn’t belong to you makes it taste that much sweeter.” He added with a mischievous laugh, tugging the top off of the bottle and looking at the other. “I’m not drinking alone, am I?”

          AXEL PUT HIS ARMS UP AT THE OTHER’S THREAT. “ i’m not gonna tell on you, maybe just to dora. “ he teased, he had no room to judge.  he has done his fair share of heists on his own parents.  “ oh you’re sharing? “ a smirk appeared on his face at the offer, pushing an empty shot glass towards the other. normally, axel didn’t prefer vodka, but he was willing to set aside preference for free drinks. “ so what inspired the theft? is it really only just the act of rebellion? “

“I was walking home from work when some old lady came up to me and gave me ten bucks. When I looked at her funny and asked her why she gave me the money she simply said, “You helped me get my cat out of a tree when I was unable to.” Just goes to show you doing good deeds for people is so worth it.”

          HE WAS UNSURE OF THE LESSON bennett was trying to teach him, looking over at the other with raised eyebrows.  “ did she ask you for help or something?  why did you just help her? “ its not that axel wouldn’t have done the same, but the lesson the other was trying to teach did not register in his head.

it was late and as usual, rye had offered to take on the shift so one of his older coworkers could go home after being rushed off their feet all day. the late shift was his favourite for the simple fact he enjoyed watching underage kids use fake id’s and get kicked out for not knowing what birth date was actually on it. of course, there were those who succeeded, such as the little shit sat at the bar staring him down at this very moment. “you know kid, you have a real baby face on you. if i didn’t know any better, i would guess you were fifteen at the oldest.” he admired the determination though. “tell you what, impress me with your drink order and i might let you have one. might.”

          IT WAS A FUN LITTLE GAME AXEL LIKED TO PLAY, sneaking into the various bars -- just to see if he could. the worst part was waiting until a new bouncer would be hired to play again.  he was never actually looked old enough to get in, but that was where the fun part kicked in.  “ i’m not a kid. “ axel leaned forward at the bar, he recognized the other from somewhere.  he scoffed at the other’s proposition, pondering it for a moment before he actually remembered who the bartender was. “ or-- i could call carina and tell her you’re being rude. “ a small threat, except it was offered with a grin. “ now could i get a lemon drop, please? “

“tell me you didn’t wander into my office during work hours just to show me your newest skateboard injury.” cameron wasn’t squeamish by any means, but that didn’t really justify axel showing off a scraped and bleeding knee. “why haven’t you even put a band aid on it yet, you moron?” ever the prepared guy he was, cam leaned over to pull open his desk drawer and produce the beaten up box of various sized plasters. “christ sake, dude.”

         AXEL HAS A BIT OF A TOLERANCE BUILT up from the whole drinking since he was fifteen -- an expensive habit as it turns out. that still didn’t stop him from being tipsy at three drinks in ( or maybe it was that he had a bit of a heavy hand when pouring drinks. ) “ i would love too, however, I haven’t really had a hangover yet.  but i can get you another drink if you want? “

It had been nearly a week or two since Leyla had touched a drink. She was too focused on her studies and still newer than she’d preferred to just call someone up and let them drag her away for a night out of drinking and catching whatever prey she could find. So as she walked beside somewhat familiar company, she wondered how to ask where’s the best place to let loose for a night without giving away too much, and so she simply asked, “So what do people here do for fun?”

          AXEL HAD BEEN INTERESTED IN THE DELGADO’S since they first arrived to hillston.  since he might’ve looked them all up, he had the pleasure of learning of their titles abroad.  although why they moved to hillston, illinois out of everywhere in the world was still the mystery to him.  in his head, there was nothing here worth moving for.  “ For fun? “ he repeated before actually looking up at his newfound company.  he recognized the voice, but couldn’t exactly match it to a face.  a small grin spread across his face once he realized who it was. “ well, sometimes i try to sneak into a bar just to see if i can, usually it takes a hundred dollar bill -- but most of the time, people just throw parties. “

         what better way to nurse the end of a hangover than some video games. it’s not very often that troy delves into them, actually, though he doesn’t have must motivation to do anything else. to go out of his way to see anyone. the homework on his laptop is the last thing on his mind as he’s fully investing his concentration on his need for speed race at hand. that is until he wins it, of course. “ yes ! ” he murmurs excitedly to himself, noticing axel in his peripheral vision. “ oh, hey axel. doing alright ? ”
