“Shit,” Mattie mumbled under his breath. What the hell was he on over the last couple days? He thought, trying to remember what he had done. He had lost his memory for a day before after a night out but a week? Mattie normally wouldn’t be too bothered by it, but the lint in his pocket and the growling in his stomach reminded him that he didn’t work at all either which meant no money and no food. “I swear my stomach isn’t normally this loud.”
“Why don’t you eat something, then?” Aurelia asked quietly, as she munched on some chips. The past week had been a daze to her, but she hadn’t really been concerned; that happened sometimes, especially with her work.
