As much as I want to see they act again as Marianne and Connell, I think this ending is already perfect. It’s just real, eventhough it’s heart-breaking. 

After everything that they’ve been through, they will go separate ways in the end. 

I’d like to imagine that they’ll unite in the future though. Just keeping this happy thought :)
