OOH thanks for taking interest in my au Wekiddy Reimagined!
it is the same universe as my Dystopia AU, Dystopia Reimagined, but Wekiddy happens many generations after the Dystopia timeline. The city was a wasteland after the Cumulor was shut down, before it got rebuilt to the city in Wekiddy.
SO YES, THE CHARACTERS IN WEKIDDY ARE THE DECENDANTS OF DYSTOPIA CHARACTERS. Cool eh?

HERES THE BACKSTORY FOR EL AND KEVINNNN
Young El Cool P had a VERY religious mother who believed rap music was "sinful" and "unholy", so it wasnt a surprise when his parents divorced because his father was a famous underground rapper at the time. El idolised his father and wanted to be just like him but of course his mother disapproved. He was kicked out of the house at just 17, and forced to live alone in his apartment with like 19 overdue bills and unpaid rent, worked two restaurant jobs with like terrible pay, and overall messy life. Until he decided to just post his raps online as a way to earn some extra revenue, and gained traction, which was where he met his first members. Soon it became his whole career and soon started Wekiddy which quickly became a giant hit world wide. By 21 he was earning six figures and had a whole team and a dedicated fanbase. His father must be so proud of him....
Kevin was a very artistic girl and had a knack for illegal spray painting. By 16 she was arrested 23 times for vandalism since she was 13. Her home was a mess, her parents always was pushing her for grades and never supported her art, and familial pressure pushed Kev to commit crimes as the only way to escape through spray painting since she was so passionate about art. Although she spray painted murals she NEVER defaced any real property at all and eventually was given a license and had a small career of being a street artist for the next few years till adulthood. When Wekiddy was gaining attraction, El needed an artist to draw him album covers and artworks, and found Kev one day painting a mural. He asked her if she wanted to join, and of course she said yes. And here she is now. A place where her art can shine.

anyway heres some more trivia
Wekiddy is a rap group and public superhero team in my AU. Some have abilities, others humans, but all of them are family.
Downtown is also canon in this au, but still thinking about the rivalry.
El Cool P treats his team like family, while Emcee Jacky treats his team like slaves and is just an asshole. El cool p HATES him.
KC Glow sees El Cool P as his father figure, and grew up backstage since he was a dragon egg. (hes a dragonborne, meaning a human-reptile hybrid.) Hence, he never had a normal childhood, but he's practically the child of the Wekiddy group.
Kevin's favourite aesthetic is Scene, and loves to wear colorful accessories, especially neon colored Kandi bracelets. Yes she is a scene girl.
Double K grew up with five elder sisters and a mother who always chased toxic relationships.
Kevin was never charged fully for vandalism (yes shes a juvenile) but because the judges were so impressed with her street artworks and never had the heart to lock her up.
MJ 182 and Boo 9 are cousins. (they have a long backstory as well but ill save it for another post.) Boo was always the "big brother" figure to MJ.
Big Duke and Jogg D are the oldest out of the group. Jogg being 30 and Duke being 28. They are not the first members though.
Boom Fuzz is the most depressed out of all of them despite being the comedian of the group.
Memphis is a perfectionist when it comes to composing songs. Long story, saving it for another post.
Blue GT, Kevin, Scooter and Swingy are females in this AU, with Scooter being a transgender woman (Male-To-Female)
8-bit is the nerd of the group.
Arashi is the giant mech the group uses to Fight off enemies. Like those Gundam/Gurren Laggan/Evangelion anime or smth idk. It needs multiple people to sync up and fight.
I am not done with drawing the full designs for each of the characters and all i have is doodles after doodles lol, but i will share them once i am done!
