“You’re talking a lot but all I’m hearing are excuses.”
Gar planted his feet and latched a hand onto Jaime’s hoodie sleeve. “See. Studying is the perfect excuse to miss dinner and get home late. Who’s gonna get caught up on the tiny details, really? So what if we were studying the cinematic excellence of early 70′s era monster movies? That’s useful, life-saving knowledge, especially in the hero business.”
Jaime pursed his lips and tried not to smile at Gar’s explanation. He supposed he could stay up late working on the paper, although he would regret it by the time morning came around. But it’s not like he had to present the paper or anything. He could just sleep in tomorrow.
Jaime sighed before giving in. “Fine. But honestly, how would monster movies help us? Are we going to be fighting Dracula? Or a werewolf?” He paused. “Those aren’t real, right?”
