Saw a review for Supergirl saying the movie is bad because it frames killing Krem as a bad thing even though he's a terrible person and it made me realize my whole issue with how often Krem gets brought up as a problem for the movie because.........it's not about him. The morals of killing Krem aren't about him. They're about Ruthye and Kara.

He's not an interesting villain because it's not about him. He's not complexly motivated because it's not about him. Killing him is framed as a bad thing because Ruthye is 13 years old and shouldn't have to know what it's like to kill. Kara killing him is upsetting because she's taking on the burden of all the young girls who are endangered by Krem. A burden no girl should've ever had in the first place.

It's not about him. It's about the girls.
