recently i'd been getting back into katamari since one of my coworkers is a fan of the series and i forgot just how awesome this entire franchise is. the obsession came back in full swing right as i got accepted into the telemarketing channel spamtenna zine

these were my first concept sketches, where i was trying to figure out how i wanted to design tenna. i wanted to keep his original outfit as much as i could, but the colors came out way too superhero-like. so that was scrapped and i went back and forth with my homies to figure out his outfit and colors

this was the final ref ! i wanted to keep things simple while also giving the katamari vibe but not losing the characters in the process. i didnt want it to feel like he was just the king with a reskin. same with spamton as the prince.

i definitely want to expand on this au, especially with spamton and tenna's relationship since i didnt want to get too caught up in the yaoi department before i even got past the world building..... but heres the sketches that didnt make it into the comic

wolstinien but make them... ponies! i'll include a little bit of lore beneath the cut :} nothing serious just me musing about the au <3

very short and simple but my basic concept goes as such: Cloudjumper is the proud eldest son of his parents, both retired now. His father, pegasus, used to monitor the weather and helped created productive weather patterns. His mother on the otherhand was an earth pony who studied local ecosystems and worked with the fliers in the sky to create safe weather events that wouldn't destroy the ecosystem :]! His parents met, fell in love, and his father moved to live on the ground since his wife couldn't joy him in the skies above. Cloudjumper was raised on the ground, but his love for the skies burned bright as a young foal. He earned his cutie mark early on, and was an early flier. Devastated when he tore his wing in a flying accident, Cloudjumper has been grounded ever since but his love for the skies continue to persist! Taking on a job like his mom, he travels Equstria studying and recording local ecosystems. Specifically he takes on a more dangerous task as he specializes in the study and investigation of unnatural and dangerous weather patterns. Softwhisper is based off my WoL, so I'll save that yapping LOL... They ran into one another when Cloudjumper's work took her past her village and she decided to be a thorn in his side.
