Just a thought:

Do you think that the Grey Warden order as a whole might harbor some resentment and bitterness toward a Hero of Ferelden who survived killing the archdemon? Especially considering the Warden doesn’t tell the rest of the order how they managed to live through it?

Part of the Grey Warden motto is “in death, sacrifice” and yet here is this new recruit to the order almost making a mockery of it by cheating death. Where is their great sacrifice?

And if the Warden ends up being Queen or Prince Consort of Ferelden? Well I feel like that just amplifies that potential for bitterness because to anyone who doesn’t know Commander Cousland it looks like they’ve sacrificed nothing and gained everything.

Given how much bitterness they seem to harbor towards Fiona for essentially doing the same thing, I’d guess yes.  Also Alistair tends to downplay a lot of stuff so the fact that he even mentions that he’s trying to fend off questions from Weishaupt means they’re breathing down his neck pretty hard.  And now they’ve locked their doors with Hawke no where to be seen… what do you want to bet that’s one of the topics up for debate?

One of the things I love about the Warden is that they succeed in part because they’re young and not experienced in the ways of the Wardens. They have all the strengths and none of the stuffy traditions to hold them back. Wardens don’t get involved in politics? Please, nobody else is going to step up. Wardens fight darkspawn? Well, yeah, but look how well that went at Ostagar. 

The Wardens at Weisshaupt and in Orlais are so bogged down in tradition, so blinded by resignation to their fates, that they accept the limitations they impose on themselves - you fight darkspawn and then you die. But then the Hero of Ferelden comes along and says no. That’s not justice. That’s not how it has to be. And whether that’s because of betrayal or injustice or an accident with an ancient mirror, it gives them the courage to stand up, to break tradition before it can sink its claws into them, to survive. And when they say a Warden’s fate is to succumb to the taint and die in the Deep Roads, that same sense of justice spurs them onward again, not just for themselves but for all the others too.

It might be the Wardens are bitter about HoF breaking tradition, but you can bet they’re also bitter because HoF was the only one who thought to try.

Hey! Earlier you posted one of your interests is development - are you a game dev too?

Nah, not a game dev specifically, but I know web development (trying to get a job in it) and could possibly branch out into other types of software development.

Game dev is probably the one kind of development I'd try to actively avoid getting a job in 😅.
