GOD BLESS THESE TEAM ROCKET MUNS OMG I CANNOT GET THE CAT SONG OUT OF MY HEAD
Song of Storms (Silver & Archer)
A failed investment? Was that what he was called now? It was almost laughable really, and to think Archer was still going on about being a saint because his coat would be suede and a waste to have his blood on it. His blood.
“No heir?” The look Silver puts on his face comes off almost as piteous, like a puppy that has been denied of his favorite chew toy. “It would seem you’ve been out of the loop, then, Archer..” he straightens up a little before the next sentence he was sure would change the situation drastically within seconds.
“I am returning to Team Rocket.”
Returning.
Well. This is a predicament. But Archer's removed people before, and Giovanni has yet to report back in. Accidents happen all the time in Rocket, after all. And it's far too easy to stage these accidents...
"Returning?" He forces a smile back onto his face, which isn't too hard because he's looking down at Silver's throat and noting how smooth the skin is, how it's just the right size for him to reach out and twist his hands around the thin bones, breaking fragile supports and cutting off precious life so easily--
"Oh, I don't think you'd be let in that easily, especially with how upset you made your parents. And lest you forget, your father has yet to return." (Oh, Archer, how the plans are going to change.)
"I suppose we could make an exception for the son of Giovanni, but I can't guarantee automatic rank after your defection. The normal practice is to exterminate the defecting party..." And oh, how he'd like to do that right now, before Silver becomes a real thorn in his side-- "...But I offered you a favor earlier. If a shot at Rocket is the favor you'd like, I suppose I could be generous."
Generous. And it'd get Silver close enough for Archer to plunge the knife in his back.
wreckage // open
((slight AU potential, just doin somethin different.))
Lying around him are chunks of wood. They used to be parts of a ship, but they aren't anymore. That's all Archer can think when his head is swimming like this. He tries to move his legs, but pain shoots up his side.
He's hurt his hip in the impact.
It wasn't planned at all, this entire thing. He intended on having a nice, relaxing cruise. Now he's laying on the beach, not quite sure if he's hung over or not.
And then he remembers. The wood isn't a ship. It's a lifeboat. And there were a few other people, or maybe just one-- it's hard to remember when his head is spinning and his body's in pain.
Archer closes his eyes and wipes his face with his hands.
Wingulls waddle around him, their fat bodies rubbing against his hair as they pass.
Song of Storms (Silver & Archer)
Archer still knew how to twist his words around, after all these years.
“Unimportant?” he laughed at the irony of it; the whole conversation in fact. Had the executive forgotten why Silver left the syndicate in the first place? Because it was unimportant to him, and not the other way around; but what? He could argue about who sets the distinction between importance, what force in nature ranked occurrences according to a scale, but the fact of it that there is no such thing. And whatever the situation was, it was obvious what SIlver felt was important was obviously different from what Archer feels.
“Who ever said I was being careless, Archer? I don’t have to be labeled by you, and what’s the point of living if all your steps have to be calculated, built up by careful lies and minced words that can be so easily toppled with one miscalculation? You are the one who has carelessness as your Achilles Heel; I have no reason to be afraid of you – Not now, and not ever.” Silver stared defiantly into those cyan orbs, almost studying his own reflection in the executive’s gaze.
“Go ahead, Archer. Shoot me. Do you think my Pokemon would let you? Do you think that the Boss would let you off?”A curt smile.
“Touch me, and I’m sure dad would make sure he cares that you’re alive.”
Defiant.
And that's about when it hits him: Silver's not just a reminder of Archer's humanity. Giovanni may be more human than Archer likes to believe, and there could be emotional weakness lying under his leader's skin.
Archer's smirk vanishes. The look he gives Silver now is the same look he's given countless other Rockets that had made it up to executive rank.
He can't just shoot now. He has to make it look convincing, has to make sure it doesn't lead back to him--
Or make sure that Silver is never in a position to be a threat.
"Last I saw," Archer says coolly, "your father spoke of how Rocket had no heir. I figured he'd given up on the notion of resting hopes for his empire on a runaway child. I doubt he'd care much about the termination of a failed investment."
The smile he gives is fake enough-- enough friendliness to hide the thinly veiled threat. "However, I've no intentions of murdering a child in this attire. This coat is suede, you know."
i didn't give a real re-introduction so i guess this works
Song of Storms (Silver & Archer)
“I don’t need people to like me, Archer.” The boy mocked plainly, advancing toward him. “Fear, is all you need to rule the people. The fear, that my father put in you is more than enough to control you.”
Another step, another flash of lightning.
“Pride, has been taught to me that it is worth nothing if it is false. There is no “pride” in doing what is weak, unethical. Is your success at someone else’s expense? Is it always about you, then, Archer? Pride of having to backstab and plot the deaths of so many to become what you are today. Are you not simply sitting on a pedestal of lies? Face it, executive.. aren’t you afraid someone would do the same to you? That you, are a mere pawn in someone else’s game?”
Silver felt his heart in his throat, noticing from his peripheral that the cornered man had reached for something under his coat. No points for guessing what it would become if he did pull it out – nothing but a bloody mess.
“Really, Uncle Archer?” he added on in challenge. If he was going to be in danger, he might as well made it worthwhile. Danger, life. Death; was it not all a game?
And for a moment, Archer really does consider it. He could end it here and now, putting aside emotions he'd rather not deal with. He could put a bullet between Silver's eyes and finish it.
Cyan eyes remain focused on silver irises, the stare-down not shifting. "All success is at the expense of someone else. That's how the world works." And the pleasant tone is gone. "If you cannot compete, there's always someone else who can, and will, tear you down."
Thunder. Lightning. Archer's not likely to be leaving any time soon.
"I know for a fact that there'll be someone after me before long. But that's why you sleep with one eye open. The only way for people to not want you dead is to be unimportant. Because if no one cares if you're alive, no one cares enough to change that."
And a slow smirk tugs at the sides of his mouth.
"Have you become unimportant, Silver?" Like a knife, Archer twists his words: "Is that why you can afford to be careless?"
Dear Petrel
Dear Petrel:
I would like it very much if you would refrain from using my face to confuse other members of Team Rocket.
…And calling me pretending to be Giovanni is not as amusing as you think it is.
I swear, this team thinks there’s something between myself and the boss and I have no idea why.
No idea at all.
Eurgh, it’s baffling and annoying and I would gladly do away with the notion if I could.
But regardless, I got off-track.
Ah, yeah. And don’t forget to properly fill out your paperwork. I am so tired of doing it for everyone.
Formally,Archer
Dear person I hate
Dear person I hate:
You are, without a doubt, the sloppiest human being I've ever known. You not only threatened to unveil the exact details of my acquisition of power, but you also took it upon yourself to track in mud whenever the floors were cleaned. Have you no sense of decency?
Eurgh, let me not comment on your "fashion sense." No, whatever you threw on that morning is not suitable attire for a meeting. Would it kill you to shower for once? And oh my god, no, those socks do not go with those shoes. And don't sit there calling me all sorts of derogatory slurs because I pointed this out. It doesn't matter what sexual orientation one has: personal hygiene and maintenance are important. Your body is a presentation, and you gave a pretty shitty one.
Frankly, I'm glad you were competition to the highest rung. Shooting you in the back was the most satisfying thing I've ever done.
Dancing on your grave,
Archer

this is why nothing gets done.
also here is archer summed up in one cat gif:
The community bookshelf is a privilege // Archer & Momma Ari.
Walking past the community bookshelf she caught a blue haired person taping up the shelves with notes. The lack of books was surprising seeing as none of the grunts even read.
“insane as always.” Ariana said from the doorway, her arms crossed neatly over the other. “you’re really taking books away from us? Archer i’m hurt.” she played dramatic to the end, her sarcastic level off the charts today.
“Glad to see you back around.” she added in finally, the corners of her mouth turned up to a small smile.
Archer jumps, but doesn't whirl around. He knows that voice. "I am not insane. I'm merely the only person in this entire organization with an appreciation for the proper storage of literature." He stands, stepping back to admire his work. Asmodeus, the mighty Houndoom, stands nearby, tail flicking as he waits for his master to move.
"Once I have decided that the punishment has run its course, I shall reintroduce the community bookshelf. I expect the books to remain in the proper order, as I have better things to do than constantly sort and resort these books." Of course, he could just ignore it, but this is Archer we're talking about.
Archer. Can't. Stand. Disorganization.

The community bookshelf is a privilege // open for rocket
Usually, there's a community bookshelf full of recommendations and resources. Every book has a serial number and is organized off of the Dewey Decimal system and alphabetized-- usually. But today, the books are gone.
Instead, Archer is taping up a sign in front of the community bookshelf. One's already up, and reads: The community bookshelf is a privilege and all persons are required to ensure that the bookshelf retains its quality. The decimal organization is not difficult to figure out. The community bookshelf will be returned after a seminar on the proper care of the community bookshelf. Sincerely, the management.
...Yeah, Archer's micro-managing has reached an all-time high.
