Sachi watched the boy take his sword down, but didnât move an inch. Only her blue eyes and her lungs where moving back and forth. But she was in a situation that she could at least look over, and so she examinated the boy in front of her quickly. Black hair, brown eyes, rather pale skin, black coat. He looked cool, to be honest, but that wasnât what was going through her mind right at that moment. She was still holding into her spear with her hands so hard they where hurting. She propably forgot how to let it go.
â⊠A mob?â Her tone was finally back to normal, no stuttering or high-pitched changes. A careful, soft and unsure tone, suiting the bluette perfectly. She looked like she wanted to question something, like why would mob be after you or how could you actually mistake me for a mob, but the words didnât leave her mind. The situation was awkward, and Sachi was still tense, watching the boy cautiously, showing off her not-so-carefree nature.
When he introduced himself, it finally started looking like a real meeting. He propably just did it out of pity, or politeness, she thought, but still appreciated the fact he did. She was used to pity by now. âIâm Sachi.â Her answer was short, a little too short. After a couple of thoughts she decided to change it into something longer. âSorry for bumping into you like that.â
«â» â "Er... yeah. Sorry." The black-clad youth had began to think it was rather stupid of him for thinking so, as most of the monsters were non-humanoid. He rubbed the back of his neck and took clear glance at the other for the first time. From the weapon she was grabbing tightly, she seemed to be a spear wielder, equipped with a defensive shield. A standard setup, which took away some mobility for solid offense and defense.
When the other started the speak, he shook his head. "Ah, no, it's my fault, to be honest. I wasn't looking." Kirito's tone was no longer frantic, gaining back his calm demeanor. He paused for a moment to use his [search] skill, scanning the surrounding area for monsters. A disturbance in the usually quiet forest made him stop- a group of monsters steadily approaching. "Oh. There's a couple monsters coming towards us... Sounds like a few Ogre Runts." He pointed in the direction of a clearing, where the faint sound of approaching feet could be heard. The boy turned towards the direction of the footsteps and took a fighting stance, readying his sword. "We can't really outrun them, but a few won't be a problem, right?"

The beast tamer nodded and looked behind Kirito. He stayed like that for a pretty long time, enough to make someone wonder if he was ignoring them. But Daiki was just wondering what the younger male did here, being so concentrated he didnât even have the time to look once at his other surroundings. He wasnât curious, but you would propably call it a way to waste your time. During the night there where less monsters around, and those that appeared where slightly stronger, but not enough for you to just go hunting. And in the city nothing ever happened, so while pulling his hand of his own handle he looked back at the boy.
âGood.â The blonde didnât believe that this guy had enough skill to fight him here, as it seemed to look that way, but that way he was kind of naive. He was still highly reserved as he tilted his head to get some hair away from his hazel eyes. But somehow he wasnât repellent, as he was just standing there, silently watching the scene before him. â⊠What is it youâre looking for?â
«â» â "Yeah." Kirito decided that the blonde was simply a reserved person. The other had been staring at a point behind him for a while now, and at one point he had glanced over his shoulder to find nothing was there but trees. Was he looking at a stealth monster? No, his [search] skill would have picked it up by now. He decided that it was probably for a reason he didn't need to know, and turned his attention back to the matter at hand.
"Oh, er..." The swordsman hesitated for a second, weighing the pros and cons of telling the other the information. Well, he might have heard it anyway, and it's the least I can do for pointing a blade at him, Kirito reasoned. "Did you hear a rumor about a hidden dungeon? Well, supposedly the prize for clearing it is a sword that's about the same as a [Floor 5] boss drop. I'm currently looking for it." Kirito had gained back his normal calm demeanor, leaning against a tree and sighing. "I still haven't found it yet, though."
Daiki had already seen the raven-haired male, seeming a little too focused on stupid things from the view of these hazel eyes. The blonde was not impressed. But still, he had no idea who the other guy where. Maybe he would soon figure out. But with sword first instead of head, Daiki put his hand on his sword too, but didnât draw it. He just gave the male a unamused look. âI hope I wonât have to get closer to that sword than this.â The tone coming from his mouth was low, without emotions, simply waiting for the blade to remove itâs peak from his direction in a calm manner.
   «â» â One moment he was thinking about finding a dungeon, the next he was staring into cold hazel eyes with a sword between them. Kirito realized with a start that he was the one holding the sword- a reflex from numerous surprise encounters with monsters. Hastily withdrawing the sword and sheathing it, Kirito bowed slightly and apologized;
"S-sorry! I thought you were a monster, and so..." He trailed off awkwardly, at a loss to say. What could you say after almost skewering someone? "Ah, don't worry, I wasn't gonna hit you, I'm not a PKer, haha..." Another awkward silence. This was just getting better and better. Kirito was starting to worry as the blonde's expression stayed cold, wondering if he had angered him.
âE-eh?â Not only was the sword gleaming in the moonlight, but so was a pair of azure eyes. They belonged to a girl, just happening to be at the place for this time, holding a spear tight into her chest. The blue eyes narrowed, and the tight grip of the handle became even tenser, as the girl recoiled from the black blade. âS-s-s-sorry!â She stammered, her high-pitched voice disturbing the calm silence of the night. âI-I-I-I-!â Her words where short and unfinished, leaving her  mouth one by one in a pace close to the speed of light, it would seem. She stared into his darker eyes, almost unaware of his presence, as her whole body was focused on the sharp edge pointed against her, and Sachi tried to do a small bow.
«â» â Kirito looked from the other and back to the sword, seeming almost surpised. Did he do that? Had a few weeks in this world change him into a killing machine? No, it was just a reaction. He was jumpy, that was all. He quickly sheathed his sword, waving his hands out in front of him.
"A-ah, no! I wasn't thinking, sorry! I-I thought you were a mob, and..." Kirito hastily apologized, bowing slightly. What a way to meet someone- mistake them for a mob and stick a sword in their face. He tried to make amends and calm the other down, who was speaking so quickly to the point of being incomprehensible, and introduced himself. "... Sorry again. I'm Kirito."Â
He was never very good with words, and Kirito was mentally criticizing himself for not communicating with people before. I'll definitely get better at this once I get out of here. Well, if I get out of here.
«â» â "Tch... I'll never find that dungeon at this rate..." After hearing a rumor in the town about a secret dungeon from an informant in town, Kirito had went out in pursuit of it. The room presumably held a sword that was equal to the drop of a 5th floor boss drop. Under normal circumstances, he would be using his [Search] skill periodically, but he was currently preoccupied thinking about the sword and carelessly bumped into someone while passing around an oak tree. The boy drew his sword from instinct, the jet-black blade gleaming in the moonlight.
The fields outside the city were riddled with weak monsters, ones that Sheila didnât even bat an eyelash at. Those inside the city were similar to the creatures she fought off, weak but plenty in number. They had given her col just to defeat them and bring back materials. Col was Sword Art Onlineâs currency and something that was inedible but necessary. Learning this, Sheila spent her days combing the fields and forests to get this currency to buy food. That was all she really cared about anyways.Â
âHmm?â Spotting a Tape Worm as it leapt up from its place on the ground towards her face, she quickly grabbed it with her hand and initiated her various martial arts moves. It only took a few swipes before the monster died, leaving her with nothing. âNyah, who do you think you are? Taking me on?â She laughed, not really worried at all despite not having her regular powers.
«â» â Kirito had decided to do some training at a field he had found in the beta that was optimal for training- weak monsters that gave relatively good experience and col. Upon arriving at the spot, he was surprised to find another individual training there, pummeling everything in sight with her fists. Hand to hand wasn't used by many, due to the high risk, high reward style that it required. It must take guts to use such a technique, reflected Kirito. While he was watching the woman fight, he heard the sound of an approaching mob. The tag above the head of the animal read [Frenzy Boar, Lv. 2].
Grinning from the excitement of a fight, Kirito readied his sword, which quickly cut a blue afterimage in the side of the animal. He looked at the following window with a satisfied expression before realizing that his EXP bar, which currently read [Lv. 20], had only rose a fraction.Â
"Some things never change," Kirito muttered with a sigh. He would have to kill fifty more mobs before rising another level, and not wanting to bother the other, continued to kill the various monsters in the field until few remained.
" I guess I'll just have to wait for them to respawn..."
