{ Drakon & Kaede }
It seems that this was a human after all, and that she was merely curious about his features. This was a natural reaction to seeing him, as he understood that it was not everyday that you saw a dragon walking around the place.. Though, what these people didn’t know that he was once a human- but that’s a story for another time. He cautiously watched the female as she approached him close enough to speak to him, listening to her words before commenting himself. His guard was up, and right now he felt like he shouldn’t drop it considering he was in a place he didn’t know anything about.
"It is understandable, I pay no mind to the disrespectful side of it, as there is very are sightings of dragons." He then paused before speaking to the other again, answering her question. "I was stranded here, and now sadly I cannot leave."
The dragon had a beautiful wife and family to return to, so when he thought that there was no way he could get off of the island, his life felt like it crumbled away from underneath him. However, he was determined to find a way off of this island, even if he had to search his entire stay for an answer!
He decided to return the question to the girl, seeing as he didn’t know anyone here and he knew that making allies was important at this point, especially if they were needed for a task that needed more than one person to fulfil.
"Are you a local here, or are you in the same situation as I am?"
Of course. The strange humanoid creature before her was not one of the townsmen but another stray. Her question was hardly necessary as she could count the people on the island with but her two hands and she had made her rounds. The people here, so far, looked rather...ordinary. Perhaps, this meant that the shadow beings controlling their situation were growing stronger or perhaps it meant nothing. Their situation was quite amusing to ponder but all she had were the ornately decorated details. One could look at a box and memorize every etching without ever knowing what was inside, if there were any contents at all. Kaede glanced away, her attention focusing on the clusters of grass that poked through the town's tiles. A moment of displayed hesitation passed before she nodded. "...I'm afraid we are all lost." Raising her head, she offered a small smile of unsure reassurance. "But it could be worse. We have houses and farms for food. I have heard that the shadows buy the items monsters drop in exchange for tools." Tooth brushed against raised knuckle as she thought aloud. "We'll need to work but isn't that true always? It could be worse." As if suddenly remembering her manners, Kaede gasped and hastily bowed. "I apologize. I am Kaede Wakahisa. May I ask who you are?"
”And your a motormouth!” Asami groaned, furrowing her eyebrows. “Who are you anyway?”
"We~ll, I believe you said I was a motormouth or an ass. I can be both." Kaede grinned, her friendly demeanor contrasting with the other's rather nasty attitude. "I was a simple passerby until I heard your squawking."
{ Drakon & Anyone - Group Only! }
This dragon was lost and confused, and to be honest he had no idea what to do about it. What was the reason from him to be kept here? That was the main question he had running through his mind as he had already tried to escape, only to be placed back in this place. His golden eyes looked around him as he sat upon the sand, wondering if he would ever return back to Sindria.
"…?"
Did he just notice a person? His eyes remained fixed upon the figure as he sat there, ready to stand up and approach them if they happened to be human, or at least someone or something who he could communicate. Let’s just hope it wasn’t a monster, because then he would be caught completely off guard…
My. Those ruling the island hadn't just stopped at plucking humans from their pitiful homes but had enough power to grab creatures from whatever cave they lived in. Perhaps, she was being too harsh. Kaede blinked innocently, staring at the dragon as he did with her although her gaze seemed to be bathed with a higher amount of curiosity. Was he even capable of speech? The necromancer wondered but kept her lips tight. After she had seen her fill, the girl took a hesitant step towards him. "Excuse me?" The witch smiled in greeting, her manner approachable. She was well past the mastery of facades, her masks seeping into mannerisms that displayed the role she chose and this one meant no harm. "I mean no disrespect but are you one of the original townspeople here? I haven't seen anyone with features like yours."
”Your an ass.”
"Oh my!" Kaede exclaimed, fingers touching the bottom of her lips. "You're quite friendly, aren't you, little one?"
A Maple Story--open
"My, we're in quite the predicament." A soft hum played on curved lips. The gloss-covered arcs parted as tongue clicked against top teeth. Crimson eyes flashed in curiosity as they cast their sight on the derelict jumble of sorry structures. The town was pathetic, the type of area not even a stray dog with the smallest scrap of pride would dare reside in. Very few people were about, limping through the town with their tails between their legs and backs bearing the brunt of the sun's heat. Slender fingers tapped against her opposite arm. Kaede tilted her head and smiled endearingly at the poor dogs.
They looked so tired, so beaten. Undoubtedly, they had been abducted from their sanctuaries and thrust into a world of uncertainties and insecurities. The poor things had none of their emotional crutches. They had none of their precious electricity and machinery. What they valued so highly because it set them apart from the animals they looked down upon was gone. Here they were, staring at their true barbaric selves. They, too, were animals. Kaede doubted that they had so soon come to that conclusion as their minds were simple and their hearts still seemingly burdened but she hoped that the core of their being felt that very truth.
With morale so low, then, they hardly needed her help but perhaps she would watch the town grow. Their struggles would be entertaining in her boredom. At the very least, she wanted to meet those who had plucked the people from their homes and placed them here. Surely, they had to have lived longer than her to resort to this. And so, considering herself an observer taking willing part in the dogs' lamentable display, Kaede affixed her troubled expression onto her features.
Stumbling forward, the necromancer gripped her arm and laid her gaze onto the ground. Leaning against a wall for support, she bit her lip before letting out a staggered breath. "H-How troubling...Are we to be stuck here forever?"
