Cold

cough cough cough cough 益 wheeze wheeze

I was eventually defeated and taken to the emergency room. (I was prescribed vitamins and given an IV drip) Like a child that doesn’t listen and goofs off and is hit in the face with a severe flu All day I was in cold sweat and dizzy to the brink of tears– 

Even though there was no heavy load on it, why did my body feel so much like cotton drenched in water… 

It’s just the ‘simple cold that’s too commonly caught whenever the season changes but, why is it so difficult and tiring each time…

This time the bastard’s strong, Potent to~o potent. ㅠㅠ

A Walk

With Dongwoo hyung and Sungjong, I went around on an outing to the Han River in Mangwon. Despite the cool autumn weather, there enjoying jet skis and yachts and other leisure sports, were elders in their 50-60s It struck me that I want to age healthily too.

 “Ah, there’s a duck boat too!” (Dongwoo hyung and Sungjong)

 The poor thing, pushed aside in favor of grand leisure sports, had fallen to its side The duck boat’s faded pink color made it look absolutely lonely I think I want to rescue it even in just my photo –click–

Above the Clouds

Seemed like I could catch them but can’t be caught, Seemed like I could reach them but out of reach, Clouds that are only cold-hearted. Mean!

I’m really tired because of the overnight filming, In the painfully bright blue sky those white cotton candy-like clouds… Who are they messing with? 

On the ground the thought of it is unthinkable, but like this on the airplane they’re right in front of my eyes… I still can’t touch them, Don’t tease me! 

I’m pissed, I’m going to sleep. Hngh!

From the Roof Top Parking Lot of Sinchon Station

chugga chugga choo choo ~~~

Sinchon has two stations, a train station and a subway station.

Coming to see a movie, I suddenly caught sight of the sunset. Thinking of the sunset I saw Eulwangni yesterday, I climbed up to the Sinchon Train Station building’s roof of course. 

There aren’t any humble homes by the train track now but… In the direction of Sinchon Subway Station there are a lot people are moving. Their movements that I usually passed by indifferently caught my eye like this, because of an extremely small amount of free time, at that moment I felt sorry towards the world that I had distanced and sheltered myself from.

The sunset in the busy city was equally as beautiful as the sunset I saw at Eulwangni Beach yesterday It is a common part of life that becomes well-developed into a very special preciousness.

Eulwangni Beach’s Sunset Activities

In the year 1986 Eulwangni Beach was designated as a National Tourist Attraction, a 1 hour drive away on the Seoul Olympic Expressway located on 746 Eulwang-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon-shi along the beach. Having known about its beautiful sunsets, I grabbed my camera and ran a bit too impulsively towards the ocean. I didn't know at the time that it was also introduced in a shooting location of <1 Night 2 Days>. This horizon that is as vast as its reputation presented such a quality that was enough to sweep me away from my field of view to my stomach. Since it was Chuseok break, seeing the sight of families, couples, and groups of friends leisurely enjoying themselves, I somehow came here with our CEO... no, well... just saying.

Rather than being alone, a day like this would be twice as fun if there was someone next to you. You can enjoy riding a group jet boat and eat Eulwangni Beach's must-try grilled shellfish that go straight into an empty stomach shoong~

And finally... I could see the glow of the must-see Eulwangni sunset. The first red sunset of my life. The breathtaking taste of the grilled clams I tasted earlier was greatly overcome by the first sight of that first red sunset at the beach!

Hongdae Front Gate

It’s Chuseok. Given a honey-like short time I was planning on going to a painting exhibit so I turned towards Hongdae. Even though Chuseok is South Korea’s biggest holiday there were a lot of people at Hongdae Front Gate. Youthful, this energy-filled street was a street of art.  As a middle school student, I was very interested in drawing and art, I really wanted to attened a fine art university Filled in the side of my workbooks, were manhwa-like drawings I drew. When something would randomly strike me or when I wanted to draw, I would sketch them, and I used to go to the art supply stores frequently. During those days I didn’t know anything besides dreaming basically, I wanted to do all of this and that. Heh! I’m suddenly getting sentimental.

秋(Autumn)

While shooting, I suddenly raised my head and looked at the sky. The autumn rain poured and soaked up the desolate land yesterday, the clear and pure sky seemed like a dream. Along with the gift of cooling wind it gives an abundance of energy that boils over and a boost of will and sensibility. Of the four seasons, I like autumn the best.

黒(Black)

I like the color black the most. With a seemingly cloudy magic it endlessly sucks me in before I even enter and sees right through me. It had a frightening ability to easily wrap around my heart at the time. In an instant, it exerted a power that soothes my chaotic heart. The color black reminds me of beyond the endless night ocean. It organizes my deviating hungry mind and provides milestones Therefore I like black.

01_The 1st 29 Days

As the refreshing wind feels icier, without knowing it, I went from the shadow I was standing in and abandoned it. A thing called ‘start’ is always heart-pounding and nauseating. Like a baby in mother’s stomach, just before coming out to the world, bursting in tears as it is a little afraid of the unfamiliar air dubiously touching its skin.

First get the camera ready! Charge up the battery. In winter, hat and gloves and also a mask are needed but, if I wear the mask and breathe it’s an Inconvenient Truth that white steam fogs up the viewfinder. But if I don’t wear a mask  the chance of a cold and multiple respiratory diseases also increases by 70%. After wearing it, I start shooting and patiently holding my breath at the same time is the key.  It is the most analog form of preventing the possibility of fog.

PROLOGUE

Once when I was getting ready to shoot outdoors, the gently blowing wind touched my face and I raised my head making eye contact with the sky. I left the “ring ring~” sound of my smartphone alone for a while and opened my mouth to take in a deep breath, it seemed like the toxin of digital civilization that had seeped into every corner of my body was escaping. Not as a ruler of time, but rather a slave to time, chased by time I cannot so easily escape the reality of the grasping cord called ‘memories and nostalgia,’ how many moments will my tightly kept shut heart truly open up to face the natural 'me’? I felt an impulse to communicate with the world as an ordinary 'average person in their 20s spending every day thoughtlessly’, not as a celebrity, onstage as member of INFINITE 'L’. I earnestly held a DSLR camera in my hands after receiving my initial contract payment, which I bought enthusiastically even despite what my parents said. Since I was young, I enjoyed taking photos and getting photographed that I wanted to have it so much I couldn’t help it. Now that it was in front my eyes, not knowing how to start or what to do from then on, I ended up using it to organize my days, making notes which were used as this 'diary’s’ start. I made a habit of going out alone anywhere near if given any small time, I created my own space where I could enjoy myself alone. It organized the dizzying pace with a message of photos and emotions. A minor encounter in the uncomplicated life with a different 'L – Kim Myungsoo’ now makes its debut to the world. In this I want to show beyond the line of the five senses and sensibility, the unpolished 'me’. To those accustomed to comfortable living facing the reality of exhaustion and depression, emptiness and weakness, and those whose body and mind become hurt by the countless encouraged competition, through this book I wish you could take even a moment to remember your analog emotions, and soothe yourself. Now, here this very moment together, you and me, is our time. Being able to record my surroundings with ease was like blowing a breath of excitement on a flower that has not yet bloomed. The one-way signs I always dart past of forgotten alleys I thoughtlessly pass by every day felt like indicators of success, above the sands of the beach, deeply moved by the carelessly marked footprints for no reason. In this short time tied together, if each difficult time can be removed and consoled, one drop of tears of happiness can become shining joy.
