Released in 1986, Cruise Chaser Blassty was an anime-inspired role-playing game developed by Square and released for Japanese PCs. Predating Final Fantasy, Blassty featured pseudo-3D dungeons, giant robots, and animation produced in conjunction with the animation studio Sunrise (Mobile Suit Gundam).
