sometimes u just gotta stand in the shower
and leave this dimension
Be teachable. You’re not always right.
There is no decay like the silenced rot from within.
To safekeep a festering-sore secret is to bury yourself in the tar pit it creates. The secret is yours until it isn’t anymore. You let it wash over you, flood into you, drown you, until all that is left of you is a vessel watching from underneath the bubbling sludge black tar. It fills the lungs with skin-scalding fluid and seeps through the hard shell you’ve spent so long constructing. It pushes deep into the soul like a mosquito; sucking life until there is no longer life to be sucked.
But you can still remember, so clearly, the purity before the downfall. You remember it filling you like light at the end of a tunnel you thought you’d never escape. You remember the release, like a cigarette after intense and passionate sex. You remember a kiss so sweet it hurts. You remember the white sugar youth and molasses freedom, and you recall how they combined to create such a delicious concoction of what you thought could be...
And then you remember an abscess.
You remember a sore.
You remember the smell of decay.
You remember the screaming rot from within, and although you’ve done it to yourself, inside rests the secret you can never tell.
