Youāre welcome
This is the most useful thing Iāve ever reblogged.
i used to think when people said my cousin twice removed that their cousin mustāve did some fucked up shit to get kicked out of the family twice
How to make succulent babies!
Step 1: Pick leaves Gently twist the leaf near the base, it should snap off the plant cleanly. Good cuttings will be slightly rounded at the ends, and have no āopenā wound:
Bad cuttings will not grow, you need to make sure the whole leaf comes off in one go. Bad leaves are jagged, torn, or cut:
Step 2: Lay all cuttings inside on a piece of cloth. I usually put a piece of old scrap material down on my desk and lie all the leaves out in rows. I try not to pile up the leaves, as this tends to promote rot. Do not water at all. AKA no misting the leaves, no watering the leaves, nothing. Everything the baby succulent needs to grow is stored in the mother leaf, watering may rot the leaf before the new plant is big enough to survive on its own! Make sure the leaves arenāt in direct sun, as they will wither before they form new plants. Filtered light from a window is strong enough!
Step 3: Waiting After about 4 weeks you will start to see the first signs of life. The leaf may send out roots first, it may start to grow with no roots. Both are okay!Ā
Step 4: Planting (Start watering once a week at this stage) After 6-8 weeks the baby succulents will be big enough to plant outside! I do this by placing the leaves on top of loose, sandy soil that has not been compacted. I do not bother burying the leaves, as it tends to do more harm than good (you may snap roots/damage new shoots in the process):
I place all the plants together, they donāt really seem to mind! These is how they look after about 10 weeks:
When the plants are big enough, the mother leaf will shrivel up and start to die off:
TADA! Youāve created baby succulents :)
Iām sorry, this is a very beautifully illustrated, informative plant post, but every time I readĀ āMake succulent babiesā I put the emphasis on the wrong part of the phrase and expect something.. very⦠different.
I am so sick of the misinformation going around about Standing Rock. To begin with DAPL was set to go through a town called Bismarck, a town that is mostly white. The people of this town expressed concern for the pipeline leaking, and said they didnāt want it.
When the pipleline was re-routed, it was set up to go through land that belongs to the Standing Rock Sioux. For those who donāt know what I mean byĀ ābelongs toā becauseĀ āOh me oh my, this is American land,ā no, it isnāt. Not all of it. There is land that belongs to different Native tribes. Including part of the land that the pipeline will be going through. This was not done with permission. How was this done? This was done by bulldozing up the graves of ancestors. (If that doesnāt bother you, read it as the graves of our veterans; the graves of our presidentsā families; the graves of your family.)
Outside of the media finally watching us for the last six months, the camps have been there before that. I know someone who was there on April 1, 2016. Thatās well before the media started paying attention in August. Well before. The camps have been self-sustaining. Yes, there have been donations. Yes, donations were made in physical items, money for items, and money for legal funds. That money and those items went to keeping something beautiful alive.
People who were arrested had numbers written on their arms, they were kept in dog cages. Protectors who were peacefully in prayer had untrained dogs set on them to attack. There are photos floating around of one trainer who couldnāt keep her dog, who had blood in its mouth, under control. In sub-zero conditions in the early morning protectors were hosed down with freezing water - this includes the elderly and children. (Yes, there were children. Guess what, they were getting schooled there. Self sustaining.) Police shot bean bags, rubber bullets, and flash-bang bombs into the crowds. A woman had her arm blown to pieces because of this.Ā
At every point since the beginning, there has only been peace on our end. No rioting, no fire, no weapons, no alcohol, no drugs; nothing but peace. And from the end of law enforcement has been violence. Even residents had been violent, and police did nothing to them. But they sure as hell arrested people from camp for praying - a nonviolent act.
If you are not Native, you donāt get to dictate what happens on our lands. I donāt give a damn if the government does. The government is breaking a treaty right now, ignoring tribal sovereignty. Just because they do it, does not mean you get to. I donāt care how tired you are of hearing about it. Weāre tired of having our lands stolen and having our rights violated.Ā
Please boost this. Iām tired of the propaganda being spread with the intent of bigots and settlers to erase Native voices and justify colonial violence. Also realize alot of this even beyond the pipeline, is settlers acting out of pure anti Native hatred. People donāt understand unless they have lived in the Midwest, just how deep white supremacy is there.

I was wrong, 2017 is about fighting nazis.
I have no sympathy for all of the (ex) trump supporters who are JUST NOW feeling regretful. fuck you, fuck your vote, and fuck your decision to jeopardize millions of lives because you wanted to whine about a bunch of emails

This isnāt alarmist. An entire field of study was just shut down with no debate. And thereās a gag-order for staffers.
A documentary producer, a photojournalist, a live-streamer and a freelance reporter facing up to 10 years in prison and a $25,000 fine if convicted
so, uh, is this where they start rounding up journalists already?
Wow weāre really here
