Tina: name a way to be nice to others
Louise: don’t kill them
Tina:....setting the bar a little low but I’ll allow it
For f’ing sure
i want to go somewhere pretty with you and forget about everything else
I really really wish I was a cat, I’m not built for this capatalist society but I am built for sleeping 19 hours a day and knocking things over
are you ever scrolling through tumblr and you have a thought and immediately lose it so you have to scroll back up to give your brain the conditions under which it originally created the thought so you can bring it back
also I learned about this project called “queering the map.” the idea is that in the past gay neighborhoods and gay spaces were very clearly defined bc it just wasn’t safe to be yourself anywhere else. as lgbt+ people become more visible and accepted many feel that we are losing our connection to those spaces
so every dot on this map is basically someone’s queer experience: coming out, meeting their future wife, seeing another gay man in public for the first time, anything you can think of that truly left a mark on them
it started in Montreal and is primarily English-language with most pins dropped in the US, Canada, and Europe, but there are people all over the world who’ve shared their experiences. it’s great to look at places near you but it’s also great to see that even people in places you thought were the middle of nowhere are happy with themselves and finding community and living their lives
It’s here and it’s SO SWEET?? Just clicking around it’s very personal stories, in first person and a lot of them addressed to a specific “you”, and sooo many in extremely poetic language. It feels like an art installation and it’s so beautiful. ;W; Thanks for sharing!!!
… there’s also a lot of really silly ones (like gay sharks in the middle of the ocean)
I looked at Jerusalem and immediately found two favorites for entirely different reasons.
Things I found from the queer community of japan:
It’s no secret to the Japanese that Shinjuku nichome is the gay district of Tokyo but about half the pins left there are for the same club in that area named gold finger. Definitely a place to check out if you’re looking to get involved in the Japanese queer community for whatever reason, it seems.
I have a sneaking suspicion this submission is a haiku when written in Japanese…
This guy got the scenic view I guess
Is this how people feel while reading deep romantic poetry because wow I’m moved.
Honestly the best feeling is learning we’re not as alone as we’ve been led to believe
These are all super poetic oml I appreciate every single one of them
There are none in my town. Guess I’ll be the first
I went to my old, STAUNCHLY conservative town and saw “There are a lot more of us here than most would think, past and present” and I nearly cried
Added stories from my own life, I was the only pins in those towns. There are some truly interesting stories on there.
All of science is telling us “Anyone under 35 has absolutely nothing to look forward to in 20 years, unless there’s a literal revolution and restructuring of the entire world’s economy” and every platform we’re on markets shit like vegan snackboxes mailed to our shitty apartments and houses we share with our parents.
your anxiety when you accidentally make one (1) person minorly unhappy
how come you can name your kid Lily or Rose and that’s totally acceptable but you trying calling em Baby’s Breath and everyone flips
I think a lot about how kids think they don’t like learning and about how wrong they are about it.
Kids love learning. They’re biologically hardwired to love learning. They just think they hate it because half of what gets taught in schools is irrelevant to real life and not hands-on activities.
Kids might say they hate school and learning. But like ask any kid if they want to be shown how to make fire turn green. Ask any kid if they know about real life Dracula. Ask any kid if they want to hear about how strong a tiger is. They’ll want to learn about it.
When I was in third grade, my entire class started this weird black market inside our desks where everybody sold different things and we used broken pencil leads as currency. I sold pet erasers I think, they were just erasers with faces drawn on them. Obviously we got in trouble and weren’t allowed to do it anymore, but imagine if our teacher had stopped our boring curriculum to teach us about economics through the lens of the weird businesses we had created? It would have been amazing. We would have loved it.
Kids don’t hate learning. School is just bad.
hey good luck today with whatever u got going on. u got this. and i hope something really nice happens to u today. u deserve it.Â
