What if Abel will be just as powerful as his father, but without knowing this?

Adam showed extraordinary strength during the final fight in hell. This power might have been granted to him by heaven for the extermination, but Lucifer himself needed to step in in order to turn the outcome of this fight, which proves heaven has quite the assets.

Abel could be just as strong as his old man, but completely unaware of this because he never had to fight before.

On top, Adam and Sera might have been constantly warning him how dangerous hell and its inhabitants are (they killed his father after all), so he's not as trusting as Emily might be when meeting with hells cast. He's probably nervous and cautious due to the negative propaganda about hell.

Now imagine he accidentally hurts, or even kills someone, by unleashing his powers when misinterpreting a harmless situation...

Completely different route:

What if Abel isn't strong at all, but will act as a spokesperson between heaven and hell.

He wants to end the exterminations and trusts Emily's intuition that Charlie's redemption program will work, especially after seeing Sir Pentious in heaven. But hell is quite wary, since he's Adams son and maybe just like him.

He goes to hell for diplomatic reasons and gets hurt during a misunderstanding, making Emily loose trust in hell at first. Sera might use this for her gain and try to convince Emily that even if redemption works for certain individuals, hell in general is too dangerous and they can't trust them.

I doubt Emily will blindly listen to this and try to resolve the situation, but still it will be a huge setback for everyone.
