The bags are packed and ready by the front door, waiting for your departure tomorrow. They’ve been a constant, painful reminder all week.One morning you’d come downstairs to see Chanyeol frozen in the corridor, just staring at them. Your parents had been dead-set against it – how could he support you financially, he’d never be around anyway, how could he protect you from the media – it had been problem after problem and no matter how many solutions you gave them they didn’t listen. They’d been wrong, of course. You and Chanyeol had been happily living together for a year now, with the occasional domestic argument but nothing to worry about.The phone call had come in last month. Your parents wanted to sort things out and so, you were temporarily going back.

In bed that night, Chanyeol holds you tightly in his arms, playing with your hair.“I don’t have to go,” you say, disturbing the calming silence that had settled over the pair of you. “I could cancel and just stay here.”Chanyeol sighs. “I don’t want you to fight with your parents, I want you to be happy.”“I am happy,” you say softly. “I’m happy with you.”Chanyeol looks down at you, the yellow lamplight reflecting in his eyes. “I love you so much.”Smiling, you lean up to nuzzle against his neck. “I love you too.”

Chanyeol carries you’re bags out for you, putting them into the boot.He pulls you in for a hug, squeezing you tightly. “Call me if you need anything, okay?” he says gruffly.“I will, don’t worry.”It’s a bit awkward with the taxi driver waiting behind you but you kiss anyway, savoring the memory of Chanyeol’s lips and his hands bracing your waist.“Be safe.” He says breathlessly.“I’m going to my parent’s house, not off to war!” you tease.Chanyeol mutters something under his breath about it being the same thing as he helps you into the taxi.You watch him disappear into the distance; you’ll be home again soon.
