a/n: it's been so, so long since i wrote an exo drabble, but all it took was seeing this video back at my timeline on twitter that boom, i had inspiration.

you flipped through the channels on the tv, but there was nothing too interesting. it was a sunday afternoon, your place was smelling like the cookies you and kyungsoo just baked as a dessert for that cozy autumn day.

kyungsoo, cuddled up beside you on the couch, had an arm around your bare leg, caressing your thigh and then your knee while he stared at his phone.

suddenly, he started humming a melody, his fingers sometimes tapping against your skin to the beat he was listening only inside his head. soon enough he started to sing too - just a few words, trying to get the right tone, the right run up.

"hm, this doesn't feel right", he said, taking note on his phone. "love, what do you think?"

"hm?", you turned your attention to him, almost gasping when he looked up at you with those big eyes.

kyungsoo sang again, looking at you. the song said something about heartbreak, as you could get from the 'you left and now i don't know what to do' lyric he was trying to get it right.

"i think...", he began. "that maybe i should try going higher with the last note?"

"it sounded just right to me", you replied, hand reaching for his hair so you could caress it.

"i don't know, i don't think i like it."

with a sigh, kyungsoo blocked his phone, putting it aside and resting his head against your touch.

"you can figure it out tomorrow, not now."

he looked up at you again, the same big brown eyes that made him look just like that cute, crying emoji.

"yeah, i suppose."

I drew Cream Soda!Chanyeol as a fire eater for the exo-l secret Santa about two years ago, and since working with a theme last year worked out pretty well I thought - why not try to do something about the story I said that I'd do something about back then? (>v<;) My general idea is that an outsider gets to see the members of a world renowned circus perform both on and behind the scenes, and this is how they interpret Soo at first or something like that - cue the use of the "working backstage" prompt hahah)

That's from their exo cream soda recording. I do not know why they want all of this person's cream soda but he can get away with it singing in that voice. I got into him specifically because you blogged about him. He has the most wonderful voice. Sounds effortless. If I was one for extremes I'd get married just to have him come sing Somebody as my first dance song.

Why... why does he sound so yearning and heartbroken about... cream soda. This is very unfair. I got into him specifically because i was told about him on my blog. So you know, this is a very positive cycle of influence we are in here, and I am proud. Seriously. We are engaging in the pure and best use of the internet - to introduce D.O of EXO to people.
