I think I’m going to nip this rp concept in the bud for a little while. I was hoping that the group would attract a little more attention than it’s had so far, and so I’ve made the decision to put the group on a hold for now. It’s a concept that I really love, so I really do hope that one day we could try again, but as of right now I think that it’s just not the right time.

what kinda things make up a mock blog? ive never made one for a group before

That’s completely up to you, really! I normally just reblog musings that encapsulate the character, as well as things they like. You can also post headcanons, fake social media posts, playlists, para samples etc. I’ve made a quick mock blog for Holly here for you to glimpse at.

since none of the actual glee characters are going to be happening, are we allowed to change the ethnicity of some of the white characters? obviously, would not change the characters who are already a poc.

Definitely! It would be great to create an even more diverse group of characters. Though of course, as you said, there will be no changes for canon characters of colour. If you have any ideas of faceclaims, but you’re not sure if they’ll work, shoot me a message and I’d be happy to give my input.

I’m also contemplating creating a list of a few FC suggestions for each character, if that would be helpful. For Leroy, I’d love to see either Jordan Fisher, Chance Perdomo, or Keiynan Lonsdale, but I could also see Odiseas Georgiadis, or DeRon Horton.

For Hiram, I could see Adam Dimarco, Ben Platt, Casey Cott, Darren Barnett, Alex Lawther, Nat Wolff, or Asa Butterfield.

is it a guarantee that future glee characters will even be created if the relationships head in different directions?

Because this is solely pre-canon, and none of the future glee characters exist in this universe, there’s nothing to say that the adults that were together on the show, have to end up together in this group. So Will could end up with Judy, and Russell could end up with Sue, if the players really wanted that to happen.

Definitely! I think it’d be great to have him around. You could of course pick a name for him, as I’m certain that he was never actually given a name in canon.

For Carmen, I could see Tati Gabrielle, Letitia Wright, Ashleigh Murray, Antoinette Robertson or Ryan Destiny. And for Cassie, I could see Dove Cameron, Kathryn Newton, Emma Mackey, Maika Monroe, or Halston Sage.

the fact that it took me so long to realize why characters like maribel lopez, pam anderson, and judy fabray needed a surname change could probably say a lot about me and how oblivious I am. anyway, this is a super unique group idea and I wish you lots of luck on it! :)

That’s understandable! I guess it can be a little confusing, especially for the likes of Maribel and Pam, whose husbands we didn’t see in canon! But thank you so much for your kind message! It’s definitely a different vibe, but I’m hoping that people like it enough to join!

meet holly holliday...

holly holliday is eighteen years old, and is a senior at mckinley. she’s been described as confident, free-spirited, and wise, but also flippant, flaky, and blunt. she is bisexual.

biography...

Holly has moved a lot of times in her life - twelve to be exact. Her father skipped out on her and her mother when she was just a toddler, and her only memories of him now are ones from the photographs that her mom keeps hidden away. After that, her mom became somewhat of a serial dater, jumping from relationship to relationship, hoping that one of them might just be able to play dad to her daughter. Though every time it would go down in flames, and every time they’d be forced to move as part of her mother’s break up ritual.

Holly soon realised that she could be anyone she wanted, and that each new town, and each new school, was an opportunity to try out a different persona. There was preppy Holly, goth Holly, geek Holly, and even jock Holly. She knew that she’d never be a part of any school for long, so she might as well have a little fun with it. It was also her way of never getting to attached to any of the people at her school - if she never showed the real her, then she’d never truly miss anyone. 

When her mom met Greg, Holly was certain that just like the others, it wouldn’t last. She figured that McKinley would just be the next in the long string of schools she’d attend. However it’s been two years since they moved to Lima, and it seems like maybe, just maybe, her mom may have found the one. Before she started at McKinley, she decided that her new persona would be mysterious Holly - the cool, quiet girl that nobody really knew, but everyone wanted to. An enigma, if you will. And at first, that’s what she was. Though over time, she actually started to make friends, and join clubs - something she’d never really done at her last school. Instead of settling in one clique, she flits among the groups, keeping the peace with just about everyone.

Now she’s in her senior year, Holly’s got her mind on where she’s going next. Whilst she’s not really looking forward to her thirteenth move, she’s glad that this time the move will be her own choice. She likes to play it cool and pretend that she’s not really that caught up about her future plans, but in reality she’s pretty serious about making it into Princeton to study History.
