My first attempt at removing a shoe!
Made with 20 minutes spare! Passed the exam and now I can officially apply to be a farriers apprentice :)
My board all finished and ready to go for today! I’m crap at exams, shaking like a leaf already and I haven’t even got out of bed! You’ll either have a very happy or very sad bad blacksmith by the end of the day. Much love x
TONGS!!! Finally finished them :)
Insane Iron Man mash up art.
In a metallic world, everything looks cooler…

Doing what I love!
All my board pieces apart from my diamond point and tongs. Will post a photo of everything when it's actually attached to a board for the day. Am so proud of this photo.
Arghhhhhh
Exactly a month away from my exam! Starting to get a little nervous now because if I fail I have only 6 weeks to remake all my 14 board pieces, which is really not a long time at all.
Just playing about with some scrap and made a little pendent. Needs brushing up and waxing, but not bad for 10 mins mucking about.
Bow Shackle
One diamond point finally done!! And with this point I have completed all my board pieces! So excited for the exam :)
One flat staple done! Only 2 more pieces and a rivet in my flat bit tongs and my board will be complete :) My exam is in 5 weeks as well *ARGHHHH*
Tong Tutorial (description of process under each photo)
Making tongs can require much energy spent drawing out and shaping if you don’t own a power hammer. Here is a technique using a slit and drift to form the boss and end. This method allows the boss to retain the mass needed to ensure a strong set of tongs.
Thanks!
I'd just like to say a big thank you to all my followers, I've just realised that I've burst through the big 100 mark. It's really nice to have your support and knowing that you are vaguely interested in what I do! Much love, BB xx
