“No. You’re not like any one I’ve ever met.” He said gently, watching her eyes. “You’re gentle but strong and amazing.” He shook his head and smiled a little.
Soheila’s heart stopped racing so fast and she began to breath at a normal rate “My mother is strong. I’m just me” she said softly
An hour later fliss had left to seek advice from her semi retired father, leaving soheail to watch over a sleeping lukas. She had read about blood poisioing in monsters before but never seen it up close. It was actually interesting to her, minus the part about it almost killing her new suitor.
Lukas groaned, waking up again. He hadn’t been able to stay asleep for very long but he was having a hard time staying awake too. “You alright?” He asked, looking over at Soheila.
Soheila leaned back and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear “fine… yourself?” She asked
“I’m not gonna lie…it hurts a whole lot…but I’ll be okay.” He said with a sigh. He watched her for a second. “I don’t usually get attacked this much.”
Soheila hummed softly and folded her arms, having regained some of her previous self assured strength, which drew him to her to start with. “Perhaps you angered a brother or cousin of sorts?” she suggested, passing him a glass of ice water. “Or perhaps your hair offended them somehow? they did all look a little thin on top” she said, smirking slightly at her own joke.
Lukas laughed but immediately regretted it. He grabbed at his ribs and groaned. “Don’t make me laugh that hard.” He chuckled.
Soheila drew in a slow breath “I apologise” she murmured, twiddling her thumbs together. “Perhaps I should allow you to rest” she suggested
Lukas sighed and nodded. "I'd rather sit and talk but yeah... I should start trying to heal." He frowned and watched her for a second. "Thank you Soheila." He said softly. "For letting me take you on that date, for driving me home and saving my ass, and for calling your mom and saving my ass again." He smiled a little. "You're really special. Not only are you beautiful, you're all the important stuff too." He reached up and tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. "Smart, clever, funny, brave, you're the works." He flashed her a grin. "I'm really lucky I met you."
