unyielding-black:
If there was any child in the world that could convince her to never aspire to dreams of having one of her own, it was ā well, 99% of them, really. But Percy Weasleyās particular brand of suffocating neediness was as clear a reminder as any as to why birth control was mankindās single greatest invention yet. Though she admired Mollyās knack for mixing the constraints of motherhood with the turbulence of a job in the drug business, never losing as so much of an ounce of her grit along the way, Bellatrix felt no impulse to follow her in adopted sisterās footsteps.Ā
Fabian was enough of an infant for her to feel as though sheād dipped her toe into that pool of experience, anyway. Speaking ofā¦
āHeās off discussing the finer points of āyeetā as a modern form of self-expression with whichever one of his twat friends learned how to string more than two syllables together this week,ā Bellatrix replied, squinting her eyes at the screen.Ā āSo, the mutilationās on pause until I can lull him into a false sense of security back at the flat. Seven defaults? Oh, that wonāt do at all, Molls.ā
She rose on her feet, polishing off the rest of her beer with an affectedness that proved that perhaps her mafia princess upbringing wasnāt too far in the past, and gestured over at Molly.Ā āRight. Itās time to remind them whoās got their balls in a vise grip: Molly fuckinā Prewett. Iāll drive; the tools are in my trunk.ā The beer bottle flew into a bewildered Percyās clumsy grip while she turned over her shoulder to bark at a nearby employee to cover her shift at the bar.Ā āDo me a favor, Percy, and go fill that up with tears. Donāt imagine itād take you that long.ā
He was off Mollyās lap in an instant, disappearing upstairs with another wail. Bellatrix pulled a face at Molly.Ā āHe must get that from Arthur.ā
āYeet?ā Molly stared blankly at Bellatrix as she tried to wrap her head around the word, shifting Percy in her lap and a frown coming to her face.Ā āThe fuck is yeet? That makes no sense whatsoever. If he starts shouting that within ten feet of either of us, do everyone a favor and cut his tongue out, will you?ā Her frown turned into a smirk; out of everything she knew about Bellatrix, mutilation of Fabian Prewett was what she thought to be her sisterās favorite hobby. Molly tried to defend him as much as possible -- it was bad for business if there was interfamily fighting -- but if Fabian thought using useless and idiotic slang was a good direction to go in, Molly would simply look the other way.
Lord knew she looked the other way with just about everything else in her life. She wouldnāt survive if she did otherwise.Ā
āI knew I could count on you, Bella.ā Molly grinned and finished off her drink, eyebrows raising as Percy caught Bellatrixās beer bottle and ran off with a cry. She sighed and stood up, taking a few moments to send the rest of her demon children to the flat above the bar before she even thought about leaving.Ā
āYou know, Iām starting to think scaring Percy into being a proper Prewett just wonāt cut it,ā she said slowly, following her out the bar and to the car.Ā āHe certainly doesnāt get that soft side from me, but please try not to send my child to an early grave. Iād appreciate it.ā

Teacup was set aside, Edgarās forehead furrowing as he picked at the paint drying on his skin and debated whether or not he was ready to have this conversation. It had been months, certainly, months to deliberate over every lie ā months to wonder precisely how much of the past year had been fabricated by his sister and the people she had chosen to align herself with. How much of his time and effort had been put into the Order and a campaign that had been sabotaged from within.
How could he face the knowledge that an entire year had been spent fighting a masked enemy hiding his own family?
āI miss you too,ā he found himself agreeing, reaching absently for the paintbrush heād set aside only minutes ago and dipping it slowly, methodically into an open tin of paint.Ā āOr at least, I miss the you I thought I knew. Do you know how many times Iāve wanted to talk to you, Ames?ā
He frowned, swirling the brush quietly through the paint, over and over and over again,Ā āIād be making food to take over to Molly and Arthur or sending an owl to Minerva to check in on how sheās recovering and Iād stop and think to myself that the one person I wanted to make sense of all of this, I couldnāt talk to, because I wasnāt sure how much of her existed anymore.ā
A quiet huff left his lips as he stared blankly up at the patches of paint smeared across his bright yellow wall. It seemed childish to him now, a relic of an optimist whoād had the sun stolen out of his sky and now couldnāt bear to see a reminder of it.Ā āWas it worth it? All of the sneaking around and lying to us all. Did you accomplish anything more than we did in the end?ā
It was naive of her to feel even a vague semblance of hope when Edgar said he missed her too, but Amelia felt the spark anyway at even the smallest probability that they could get past all of this. The hope, however, died when Edgar continued talking, and despite how much Amelia wanted to protest against everything he said, she knew she had no leverage in this sort of situation. SheĀ had been the one playing her brother for well over a year. SheĀ had been the one who lied through her teeth whenever Edgar would talk to her about the Order, only half-hardheartedly going along with whatever plots the Order managed to make up. Edgar was well within his right to react however he deemed necessary.
Even if that meant coldly toward her. Amelia had seen her brother act this way before, even though the situation was rare, but it had never been toward her. She had never thought it would be.
āI wanted to talk to you too,ā she whispered, avoiding eye contact with him as she made her way to the edge of his sofa and sat down. Everything sheād taught herself on how to behave in confrontations was gone when it came to Edgar.Ā āI just didnāt think youād want to. Didnāt blame you for that either. You have every right.ā
Was it worth it? Sheād asked herself that question every day since joining with Janus, and Amelia was never entirely sure.Ā āThe Order never went anywhere, Ed. We all just stood there and bickered amongst ourselves while the Death Eaters took more and more of our world for themselves. I --Ā ā Regulus flashed in her mind, undead and kept locked up, a dirty secret from the rest of the world. Amelia swallowed thickly and picked at a loose thread on her shirt.Ā
ā... I donāt know if it was worth it. Not anymore. Iām sorry I betrayed your trust, Edgar. I really am.ā

Horace Slughorn... How do I begin to explain Horace Slughorn?
Horace Slughorn is flawless.
He has two vials of Felix Felicis and a personal supply cuboard.
I hear his hairās insured for £10,000.
I hear he does cauldron commercials... in Japan.
His favorite form is the shape of a couch.
One time he met Tom Riddle in his classroom, and he told him he was pretty.
One time he punched me in the face - it was awesome.

wrongedxones replied to your post: ā³ (molly - mafia verse) Do you think Bellatrix...
molly prewett owns my life
ā³ (molly - mafia verse) Do you think Bellatrix would ever betray you?
āI think sheās more likely to betray Fabian before she ever betrays me or Gideon. Weāre too close, honestly. Weāre family, and I trust her with my life. That, and she knows that if she did betray me Iād go after her--she may have her guns, but Iām no rose just sitting on the throne.ā
ā³ (molly) Would you sacrifice one of your children if it meant ensuring the safety of the Wizarding World?
āThe fact that youād even ask me that question means you know nothing about me. How about I sacrifice youĀ instead? Itāll certainly make my part of the wizarding world happier.ā
āMaybe Percy.ā
ā³ - (amelia) Would you betray Ed if it meant you got to live?
āMy actions certainly say otherwise, but no. I donāt think I considered any of this as true betrayal until Ed found out my involvement with Janus. I donāt want to see that expression on his face again.ā
brcntides:
Hand outstretched, Sirius caught the sliding glass, nodding in thanks. Taking a sip, he cast a covert glance in the womanās direction, eyebrows raising in surprise when he recognised her. Fuck. It had been years since he had last seen her - no doubt it was back at Hogwarts. But still, his father - Orion - knew Mr Zabini well, and Sirius had memories, fuzzy from years locked away in the back of his mind, of being thrown together at events, as was quite often the case for the children of the well-to-do.
āI never do.ā Not on his own, at least. Drinking always held more appeal when the rest of the lads were present but that hadnāt been the case for a long time now. After all, it was not exactly easy to be constantly coming and going between the wizarding and muggle worlds.Ā
His eyes trailed around the pub once more. Where was Tom? He always turned a blind eye during Siriusā trips, and Sirius very much doubted the same could be said forā¦. whatever her name is.Ā āNot to be rude or anything, but whereās olā Tom slithered off to?ā
She wasnāt sure if she should consider Beanieās response sad or not, frankly, so Sabrina did what she did best and didnāt consider it at all. Most people who came into pubs to drink alone, sheād found, were already sad as it was, herself included. Not that sheād say anything about that in front of Beanie himself; if she drove a customer away because of her big mouth (again), Tom would definitely fire her.
Sabrina let the silence go on between them for a few moments, taking to wash up a few glasses until Beanie spoke again. She snorted and glanced over at him.Ā āMate, thatās far from the rudest thing Iāve heard. Tom had to go out, something about making sure Prewett didnāt get caught drunk by the headmaster. Donāt reckon a professor being seen smashed is good for publicity and whatnot, not that it matters anymore.ā
