I brought my American roommates to meet my friends and they walked in their house without saying hello, didn’t offer any of the alcohol they brought, and stayed on their phones on the other side of the room, laughing with each other??? Every time I bring them to meet other people they act like this. And every time I go do anything with them in public, they’re rude to waiters or shop clerks and they roll their eyes, laugh, and barely try to speak any Spanish (aka they don’t even try to communicate at all with people who serve them). No wonder the world can’t fkn stand us. I’m so embarrassed. I’m realizing that often the Americans who come to Europe are wealthy spoiled kids who weren’t taught how to treat others, or they don’t have much sense of oneness with the world. And instead of coming here and opening themselves up to the lessons of being humble, they keep people separate from them. Such a shame.
