Artists beware!

When a few likes become more important than what’s right.

We started this initiative Sunday due to finding out former active MM fan artist Myetie had taken down all her MM art from her Instagram, deactivated their Tumblr and abandoned the past completely. Myetie was and is probably one of the most famous artists within the fandom (together with @r-e-i-i , @eori-namo and a couple of others).

Credit Myetie: https://www.instagram.com/myetarts/ It was tragic to see such efforts Myetie had gone to to protect their original art from theft. They created a new protected twitter and IG account to separate herself from what happened. I don’t intend to drag her or any of the others into it, but this is a callout post for one particular Facebook Fan page we’d like to call out for their offensive behavior towards artists and entitlement.

This particular group continuously posts images from artists with no more than a CTTO as a general rule at best. They flat out ignore people telling them the artists doesn’t want their art reposted, and they call Artists PMing their crew to take down their art harassment. They literally wrote that artists should be thankful for them reposting their art and they are doing their best job. MM CAT has shared a ton of their reposts with credit since Sunday, and they do not put credits on still. We literally pointed out to them that R e i i and Eori Namo doesn’t want to get reposted, but still they continue to do so afterward. We also informed them of Myetie’s departure. Here are 2 of their mods opinion pieces on why they are the good guys and people who have their art stolen are harassers as well as sharing their reposts with full credit.

I want you to know that all 3 images used in their posts by artists had already been shared by our page with full credit previously. So we’re considering that they deliberately chose those images to mock our efforts for artists. As they have blocked us too.

Alright, it pains me to think that this is still a big issue and I have to say something.....

GUYS, WHAT DO YOU GET OUT OF T-BAGGING ANOTHER PLAYER’S DEAD BODY?

I mean come on, it’s rude to me and it’s really disrespectful to others as well. I enjoy playing Titanfall 2. I love it. (For anyone who plays, my gamer tag is shortasian17) I recently played a match against a good team. I didn’t do so well and I accept it, but a guy on my team kept on calling me out. “ you’re bringing the team down!” “Don’t do this, don’t do that” “you guys suck” “stop dying and play!” It was rude and people on he other team were telling him to stop, but he continued. We ended up losing badly but that’s okay. It was one match. He sent me a message afterwards telling me that I sucked. Fast forwards to the next match and he ended up being against me and my team.

Before I get into this, I’m gonna clarify that I am currently a G3.05 (for anyone who doesn’t know what that means, after you reach level 50, you have the option to regenerate. This would be my second time, since I am a generation 3 pilot.)

We begin the match, everything is going well.... until I begin to get a killing streak. I’m doing a whole lot better than my last match and I’m proud of it. I finally see him after what seems like forever and he kills me. Cool. What he did next was the rudest thing I’ve ever encountered. He yells, top of his lungs “ I fucking beat you! You faggot noob!” And proceeds to T-bag my dead body.

Rude right? Unfortunately these types of things happen regularly on titanfall 2 and it needs to stop. It is rude to everyone, you are disrespectful to the other players, and you label yourself as a self centered jerk who can’t seem to get out of his 5 year old mindset. I think whoever enjoys playing video games, whether it be pc, Xbox, PlayStation, whatever, would like to have a game where we aren’t picked on by people like this.

Never feel bad or apologize for not doing as much art as your peers.

You are very lucky to have a source of income you can count on.

Work can be tiring, if you are too tired to draw, then don’t draw.

You’ve worked a long shift, you come home and feel worn out. You want to draw, but you just can’t do it. DO NOT FEEL BAD ABOUT THAT. You’ve earned some rest, you can always draw another time.

Never apologize for taking longer to finish things because of your schedule.

If someone tells you “ I’m not gonna support/follow you because you don’t post as much as this artist”, ignore them. They obviously don’t support you in the first place.

You are a great artist to balance both art and work. <3
