If nothing else, this fight would teach him to stay on his toes and not get distracted. Eggman’s mind way partially distracted in dissecting the design choices made by the other for this odd machine. Reacting not to the counter, but the dramatic flair from the reveal of the other’s wings. Just as he was about to judge the silly design choice, the other was able to surprise him one more time. The Egg Dragoon took the hit before Eggman could process that it could also fly. Something of that caliber, during this time, shouldn’t be —
He let out an audible groan as he tried to adjust himself quickly back to the controls. Yeah, okay. Lesson learned. He wasn’t going to underestimate this guy before. As inferior as he (supposedly) was, he was still a Robotnik that many knew not to mess with. Things were getting interesting.
He doesn’t offer his younger self anymore taunting words, at least not at the moment. Instead, the other would hear excited giggle bubble and burst into something much more harsh and manic, clearly delighted despite taking such a hard hit. Very quickly is it becoming just another game and very quickly was he willing to take more risks to play it.
Waving at what he can only presume is the face of Metal Robotnik, the other would notice that suddenly … Eggman wasn’t where he was previously piloting. Slinking down out of the main body that was directly in the others range and onto its second lower half, the only thing left for Doctor Robotnik to face was the swing of its drill now serving as am electrifying lance that could easily pierce the heavens.
He usually preferred to save a separation attack far later into a fight but if the other was going to throw the unexpected at his future self then he would get it right back. Sneaking behind the other with the aid of his distraction, the other mech would be met with harsh freezing waves ready to strike at the other; preferably the jetpack that kept him airborne. He was taking a big risk piloting the lesser half of the Egg Dragoon but he couldn’t stand the thought of autopilot getting the credit for such a devious attack.
The mech hovered back slightly when the punch landed. Robotnik chortled when he saw the other readjust himself, Metal Robotnik’s red eyes piercing yet full of amusement. That was one thing the machine certainly had over the Egg Dragoon-- It was much more expressive.
His grin faded slightly when he heard Eggman giggle and laugh. That god forsaken childish, terrible laugh he had quickly grown to hate. Robotnik raised a brow when he saw the other waving and abruptly, the mech quickly raised its arms to defend itself from the drill. The mech was made with a very polymer alloy, that was able to stay stable in the face of physical attacks and general damage, ranging from hedgehogs to debris abruptly falling on it. Metal Robotnik held steadfast, the electricity coating the lance only causing to to shudder slightly as the mech prepared to grab the drill to attempt to disable it--
--Only to realize that the bastard had snuck up behind him.
“-!!!” A startled noise escaped it, as it couldn’t really react, flapping its wings in an attempt to get away from the freezing attack. It only... Half worked. Literally. Its left wing and half of the jet-pack were frozen solid, causing it to fly greatly lopsided. Robotnik cursed to himself, quickly raising the jet-pack power to full to compensate and hopefully eventually thaw out the damned thing.
“Why, you--!!!” Robotnik grunted out, as the mech was barely able to slightly stabilize itself. The hand that had turned into a gun made a loud ‘KER-CHUNK’ noise as it abruptly changed ammo. Fine, if the other wanted to disable his mech, he’d do it back! He made an internal choice, take down the top half, then deal with Eggman in an obviously much weaker part of the mech.
Flying slightly more upwards to try to get away from the lower half, the mech shot a plethora of sticky, glue-like globs at the main mech. This was obviously used to stop certain hedgehogs from running, but it could also probably cause a machine to seize up as well. The only downside was his aim was slightly off due to the slowly thawing out jet and wing, but the globs were so spread out it almost didn’t matter.
