Imagine the paladin's are getting ready to go back into space after staying on Earth for a while.
Just as Shiro and Keith are getting ready to go into the black lion Lance stops them
Lance: Hey guys wait, I um.. I'm not coming
(Keith and Shiro look back at Lance confused)
Keith: What are you talking about?
Lance: It just seems like I'm not needed, now that you are back and Shiro can pilot again.. it's just that the team is full and I'd just get in the way
Keith: That's not true, just take your helmet and let's go
(Keith trys to give Lance the helmet and Lance refuses)
Keith: (voice raised) Lance get in your lion!
Shiro: Keith... You can't force him to come, it's his choice, you had the choice to join the blade and have your freedom, I think , I'm just going by what you guys tell me, I'm still confused about this whole clone thing, but besides the point, you can't deny him that freedom Keith
Lance: Shiro is right, and besides now you can have red back
Shiro: (putting a hand on Lance's shoulder) Are you sure about this?
Lance: Positive (Lance smiles) Besides you guys don't need me
Keith: (bursts out in anger) WE NEED YOU!
Shiro: Keith! This is not about us this is about Lance and..
Keith: You can't stay we can't be a team without you!
(Keith clenches his fist)
Keith: No it's true! We are nothing without you Lance
(Keith takes a step twords Lance)
Keith: I'm nothing without you
(Keith grabs Lance's hands, Lance looks stunned)
Keith: Way back when we first met I would have let you go, in a heartbeat, but not now
(Lance pulls his hands away and turns his body from Keith with a sad expression)
Lance: But I don't even have a thing (sighs)
(Keiths eyes soften he turns Lance around)
Keith: What are you talking about?! Of course you have a thing, you hold the team together, when we need it most you are here for us, a shoulder for us, you are the team
(Lance looks down at his hands which Keith has again)
Lance: I'm just a joke though
(Keith sees the pain in Lance's eyes, he lifts Lance's head up)
Keith: You are so much more than that Lance though, sure you can joke around alot but you are so so much more, to the team, to citizens, to me..
(Lance hears these words and looks into keiths eyes, he realizes that what he needed was standing in front of him the whole time)
(Lance does not speak just watches in awe)
(Keith utters the words Lance has longed for some to say)
Keith: We need you, .. I .. need you, .. I .. I love you Lance..
(A tear falls down Lance's cheek)
(Lance kisses Keith and in awe Keith kisses back)
(A drop of rain lands on Lance's forehead he looks up at the sky and back down a Keith goofy smile and all, they stand in the rain embracing each other like nothing else mattered)
(Shiro in the back ground is wondering what the hell is going on)
Shiro: (confused) What so you two get along now!?! How long was I dead for?!?!
(Lance and Keith chuckel and look back at each other, Shiro comes over and messed up keiths hair)
(The three of them walk off into the sunset as the rain leaves puddles behind them)
